This scam court is continuing the wrong way; due to the fact that there is only concentration related to the Ukraine issue. Due to the fact that Pelosi only wanted 2 Articles if impeachment. They should have had 20 at least.

He should be accused and removed in his total wrongdoing and incompetence all the time. Like how he managed to kill 167 people because he did not like Obama's signature on the "nuke" deal. And like he did not like Khashocki and had Kussner place an "phone" call to the Saudi's. Also he did not like what Epstein knew about him and made an "phone call" to have him strangled. Furthermore he had quite a few Kurds killed due to an stupid "phone call" to Erdoan in Turkey . As well had the Deutsche Bank guy killed, of which we know very little because the FBI was not allowed to research any of these "killings". Again another strange killing of an Ukrainian woman with ties to the "bribery case" here. And don't forget the death of at least 5 kids at the border due to of Trump's actions.

Thus talking about abuse of power; he thinks that he "knows it all" and can do whatever he likes and is fully above the law.

This is proven over and over; thus just talking about the Ukraine issue as being his only mistake gives the wrong picture of this guy. Someone should as part of abuse of "power" ad all of this to the story. If not then this naive court thing will show that he only maybe just one silly mistake and he will only be reprimanded and can continue with his crimes.

Right now Nadler is speaking about abuse of power, but only talking about the Ukraine issue; if abuse of power then drag in all abuse of power. What an naive bunch.

    Stupid country for sure.

One of the strengths and weaknesses of our legal system is the courts. On the one hand, people, organizations and corporations are allowed their day in court, and if they do not feel the verdict is just, they can appeal to the next higher court, and then appeal again to the next court until eventually it gets before the Supreme Court, assuming each of those courts agree to take on the appeal. Justice will eventually be served, but on the other hand the process can takes years...and lots and lots of money for lawyers. So in effect it becomes a tactic of the rich and corporations that have the financial resources to carry on the appeals process for months and years hoping to outlast the will and finances of their opponent.

What I have described is Trump's turf or playground. As a businessman he was sued or he sued thousand of times...big guys and little guys. Just about everyone who did business with Trump was sued or had to sue to get their money for services...even his lawyers and banks were sued. It was like a game for Trump, the narcissistic sociopath with zero empathy for anyone but himself.

So now as President, Trump can play that same game blocking witnesses and documents until the clock runs out on the various court appeals. Schiff has mentioned on many occasions the amount of time it has taken to just get Don McGahn to testify under subpoena. By the time the Supreme Court eventually rules on that case it will be 2021 or beyond.

Pelosi and Schiff are well aware of this and so they had to contain their case to a narrow focus. As you know, Barr had already prejudiced public opinion for any case that might have used the Mueller investigation findings as a basis to proceed. But that case likewise would also have required more documents and more witnesses than just Don McGahn. The process would have taken well beyond the 2020 election.

So the Ukraine affair had the best chance of achieving some kind of success relatively quickly. And consider this...even if the Senate acquits him, Trump is essentially a lame duck president. Schiff and his team have all but destroyed him, no matter how much he blusters about being exonerated. Trump's history as a despot has been written for him, essentially "etched in stone" for historians to discuss forever. What he does in the remaining months of his presidency will be judged as a tarnished lame duck president.

Yes Schmidt you describe it well. But it again shows where the problem is. It is the "zillion" lawyers who profit from it, because our antiquated laws are filling their pockets. Neither there is an comprehensive operating manual for Presidents as part of the oath, neither precise impeachment procedures manuals nor instructions on how to run these.

The "shit" this country is in, is "self" created, by hanging onto outdated laws which were valid for 1800 but don't work nowadays and letting all kinds of lawyers play with it. The Constitution should have been an "living document" and kept up to date. Due to using "case law" then you run into problems all the time; the more paperwork the more money the lawyers make. The more money you have to burn, the more lawyers you can get to defend yourself forever. An sick country for sure; common sense does not count here.

Like I've said many times the system (laws and procedures) here is corrupted and broken. This "impeachment" proves all of this.

    To quote Schmidt:

"So the Ukraine affair had the best chance of achieving some kind of success relatively quickly. And consider this...even if the Senate acquits him, Trump is essentially a lame duck president. Schiff and his team have all but destroyed him, no matter how much he blusters about being exonerated. Trump's history as a despot has been written for him, essentially "etched in stone" for historians to discuss forever. What he does in the remaining months of his presidency will be judged as a tarnished lame duck president."

Democratic impeachment managers presented a comprehensive, masterful, and compelling argument that Trump abused his power by pressuring Ukraine for his own personal gain. Democrats utilized slideshow and video clips from previous testimony of current and former administration officials, as well as quotes from Trump and Sen. Lindsey Graham. Republicans responded by complaining that they were bored. In fact, 21 GOP senators left the room entirely for several hours, demonstrating a clear lack of respect for the hearings.

CBS News reports that Senators have been warned by Trump team: “Vote against the president, and your head will be on a pike".

White House legislative affairs director Eric Ueland appears to be seeking revenge or at least looking forward to observing it, over Trump’s Senate impeachment trial. Bloomberg reporter Daniel Flatley tweeted that Ueland walked past a group of reporters at the Capitol and said, “I can’t wait for revenge.”

It's a foregone conclusion that Trump is gong to be acquitted by the senate. However, I'm of the opinion that every senator that votes to acquit him, and Trump himself, is gong to get enough negative publicity that it is LIKELY that the Democrats will regain control of the senate, expand their majority in the house, and regain the White House.

I doubt it; he certainly won't be an lame duck. He will make sure that all the "loyal" idiots around him will stick with him. As I've said many times his "model" is the NY mafia model. McConnell is now also part of it and can't go back. Regardless of the good show of the Dem's and Schiff's great work, the "mafia" sticks to its culture and don't budge.

I'm afraid that the sessions starting today with the "Trump party" will undo all the Dem's arguments, regardless what Schiff said ; they are solidly stuck in Trump's ass. Also McConnell won't budge and allow documents or witnesses to come forward.

So the end result will likely be that Trump can do whatever he likes afterwards and be Czar. Yes an total scam court.

That is what you get if you refuse to prepare and design clear instructions for such events in an "manual" as part of an "living" Constitution( means; update it to reflect the time we live in) and not an half ass 1800's document, which has to be twisted and turned all the time and can be interpreted anyway you like by corrupt lawyers. In 1800 they were thinking different than nowadays; sorry people, horse and buggy times are over (except here in PA)
