Washington Post: Which of these 2020 Democrats agrees with you most?
Take the short quiz to see which Democrat comes closest to matching your views.
I was surprised to find Bloomberg at the top of my list...
Yes as I've said before he's the only candidate who understands this country and knows what it takes to run an country with so many variations in education, beliefs, color etc. New York is an melting pot of all of this. I also think because of his experience in worldwide publications and stock markets he knows how things work.
Sorry the other candidates have no clue of the world around them and some of them have an scary "island" mentality.
I find it interesting that Andrew Yang was at the top of my list, followed by Buttigieg and Warren who tied with 12.
Deep down, I'm pretty far to the left. As an example, it appears Bernie and I are the only people who believe everyone should have the right to vote regardless of their lot in life.
In the same breath, I'm militantly pragmatic. I'm well aware that my personal feelings on a UBI and a federal gun registry are different than what people who live in the states that matter think. And quite honestly, what the average person in swing a state thinks is the only thing that matters this election cycle.
So maybe I agree with Andrew Yang the most (which is quite honestly a surprise to me), but that simply doesn't matter. I live in one of the bluest states in the country. Our electoral college votes will go to whoever the Democratic nominee is. All I care about it Democrats selecting a candidate who can win the states that count.
Like I said: Bloomberg. He's got the mind and the tools to defeat Trump. I hope people realize that this election is the most important of all times; thus throw in all the ammunition you got and that is not Warren, Biden, Sanders, Buttigieg.
If we loose against Trump, then forget this country; it will be an horrible incompetent dictatorship run by the NY mafia.
Sorry there is nothing in this quiz about international politics so very incomplete.
But yeah if you vote for Trump, then you are voting for WWIII

I have to say that I'm shocked you're such a big Bloomberg fan. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he seems to stand for basically everything you hate about this country. He's against raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans, against single-payer (even going so far as to say it will bankrupt our country), and has all but accused Bernie and Warren of wanting to turn the United States into Venezuela.
Don't get me wrong - I actually like Bloomberg. I tend to fall to the left of him on a number of issues, but he's proven himself as a businessman *and* politician. He's not my first choice, but I'd have zero problem voting for him If he happened to be the Democratic nominee.
However, I just have to admit I'm a little surprised you are so supportive of him since he is in no way a leftist.
Jared, I'm not an "fan" of anyone running right now. The point is that he's running an international Bloomberg channel, which is much better than CNBC. You should look at that; there is news from China in the evening and from Australia, at day time from Europe and Africa. Often he has news which is here not mentioned or an "cover up". Thus since it is his company, it makes sense that he knows more about the world than any of the other candidates. What does an Warren or Sanders know about the world; even Biden is at a loss about that, letting his son "experiment" in the Ukraine.
No one on these Democratic "sessions" was asked what they think about the world around them, let alone what would they do with Iran or Israel or trade. Sorry none of these candidates is suited for the job, let alone to get rid of Trump, who still got all the support from his base and the mafia club around him including the evangelicals.
The quiz is to find the candidate whose "stated policy views" more closely align with yours. However, as we know, there are other factors -- likeability, leadership traits, intelligence, knowledge, charisma, confidence, and motivation -- to name a few that more often factor into a person's decision. It is also more of an emotional decision than one based on deep thinking about the issues...or practical realism. A candidate's agenda is often more of a wish list to garner votes.
On Sunday, the New York Times endorsed BOTH Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren.
Since there are people who are folks who either strong Biden or Bernie supporters, having both women at the top of the ticket could be a good compromise.
