Who do you think the Whistle Blower might be?

All the media that I read and watch rightfully refuse to speculate (in public) on the who might be the whistle blower because they are respected as journalist who would not "Out" anybody who's trying expose corruption.

But we are free to speculate, Number #1 on my list is John Kelly.

If not Kelly, it is someone highly respected and at the same level as Kelly in terms of influence\power in both government, military, politics and is a Republican.

My deduction is that if the whistle blower had been simply a lower level career official or diplomat, the entire thing would have been buried and never to seen the light of day. I think whistle blower has to be someone who was (and maybe still is) in the same room as Trump on a daily basis and someone who is held in such high regard that his career reputation forced the hand of the chain of command to take action when the complaint was first filed. If they had ignored the whistle blower, and he\she later went public as the next step, a lot of career people (many former military) would have to answer for their lack of action they were informed by him through proper channels.

Other than Kelly, who has that kind of influence to force this to bubble up to the top, someone who can't be ignore by either party?

IMO, whistle blower has credibility at the highest level. Someone who refuses to stand down to Trump; does not fear him.

I agree that Kelly would be the best bet, but I hope that we don't find out for years to come.

Mark Felt was not identified as "deep throat" until 30 years after Nixon resigned. At the time, he was 91 years old. Most importantly, Trump and his minions are far more dangerous than anyone surrounding Nixon, so it's critical that his identity remains a secret.

I think there is little to zero chance it's Kelly. He left the Administration in December of 2018, months before the now infamous phone call between Donald and Volodymyr Zelensky.

My money is on a mid to high level official at the CIA or NSA who was "read into" the phone call and was so shocked that they decided it was their patriotic duty to file an official whislteblower complaint. We've probably never heard of the person and would have zero idea who they are if they ever come publicly out.

I agree. Honesty shouldn't get you killed. I hope they remain confidential for as long as possible. The minions are crazy and dangerous.

True if Kelly does not meet the legal requirements of a whistle blower; then it can't be Kelly.

From what little we know about the whistle blower, he is some kind of middle man who was not involved, he simply was a condotte that was able to collect info and\or talk with various people who had first hand information. Someone who was likely informed of what was happening though his connections, access to info, and possibly leaked info strictly to him.

It may not be Kelly. It is my observation of the pattern of events that got where we are now suggests the whistle blower is someone that is held in high regard, someone who has a military background (ie General) that the complaint can't be filed away for political reasons (ignored). In simple terms, the whistle blower is somebody, not nobody. I think it required a very big match to get this fire started.

The Republicans have an obsession with identifying the whistleblower. In doing a Google search there are two different names that have come up in right wing websites. And what if he/she is ultimately identified? The only purpose is to publicly vilify him/her and any family. The right wing crazies spurned on by Trump will make the person the scapegoat for the entire impeachment proceedings. They are already vilifying and threatening witnesses like Fiona Hill and Lt. Col. Vindman. These rabid Trump supporters are psychologically unbalanced and are living in constant rage. Republicans like Nunes and Jordan are playing with fire as they try to out him.

    Schmidt:

Two days ago, the U.S. Army stepped up protection of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his family as the National Security Council official came under attack from the White House, where he still works.

Vindman said this on his opening statement on Thursday morning:

“I want to state that the vile character attacks on these distinguished and honorable public servants is reprehensible,” he said. “It is natural to disagree and engage in spirited debate — this has been our custom since the time of our Founding Fathers — but we are better than callow and cowardly attacks.”

A former FOX talk show host explained the art and purpose behind attacking Lt. Col. Vindman - and it has a lot to do with conspiracy theories, which are the most engaging narratives for 80 million FOX viewers.

The Vindman coverage followed the Fox News conspiracy segment playbook perfectly. In the days after Fox News produced it, the spy tale was distributed by other dealers of conspiracy theory. Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida tweeted that “Donald Trump is innocent. The deep state is guilty.” The congressman’s message was amplified by an account tied to the online conspiracy movement QAnon to 160,000 of its followers as well as posted on a QAnon Facebook page.

It is sickening to see how depraved some Republican members of Congress have become as they have fully embraced Trumpism. Matt Gaetz, Devin Nunes, and others have lost all touch with reality as they are consumed by their mission to protect their corrupt president at all cost. Of course any conspiracy theory that Trump grabs a hold of becomes the Republican talking points, facts be damned. They are ruthless, playing to the ignorant...

Who is the whistleblower? Let's hope we never find out. But I think it's someone who eavesdropped on Trumps phone conversations, let's hope they were recorded for evidence.

Eavesdropping on a cell phone is so easy these days, all one needs is something on the order of a programmable scanner.

Forget the Whistleblower. The book Warning by Anonymous is now out and is the No 1 seller on the NYT best seller list. From the Amazon review:

"An unprecedented behind-the-scenes portrait of the Trump presidency from the anonymous senior official whose first words of warning about the president rocked the nation's capital.

"On September 5, 2018, the New York Times published a bombshell essay and took the rare step of granting its writer anonymity. Described only as "a senior official in the Trump administration," the author provided eyewitness insight into White House chaos, administration instability, and the people working to keep Donald Trump's reckless impulses in check.

"With the 2020 election on the horizon, Anonymous is speaking out once again. In this book, the original author pulls back the curtain even further, offering a first-of-its-kind look at the president and his record -- a must-read before Election Day. It will surprise and challenge both Democrats and Republicans, motivate them to consider how we judge our nation's leaders, and illuminate the consequences of re-electing a commander in chief unfit for the role.

"This book is a sobering assessment of the man in the Oval Office and a warning about something even more important -- who we are as a people."

A good Christmas present for your Republican family and friends perhaps? But who is Anonymous?

Who is the senior official? McMaster? Rex Tillerson? John Kelly? John McEntee? Gary Cohen? Omarosa Manigault-Newman? Sebastian Gorka? Scaramucci? Mike Dubke? Michael Flynn? John Bolton?

You know, in the olden days, if your employer wanted to get rid of you, you'd be called into their office and told we're letting you go. Trump has tweeted and leaked to MSM the firing of some people,

IDK man, if someone fired me like Trump did, I'd be pissed off enough to write a book about his shortcomings.

Who cares? If you don't know by now that Trump is an asshole, then you live in la la land; you don't need an "whistle blower" to find that out. However certain people here indeed live on an "island" and never seen anything else than an cows ass. Amen
