As a Progressive democrat who was appalled at how corrupt and rigged the 2016 Democratic Primaries were one could only be hopeful and optimistic that the DNC 3 years late would have reformed the Democratic Party system so it was fair and free of sneaky, underhanded , dirty dealing activities such as giving campaign funds to their favorite instead of what the people wanted, the 500 super delegates still exists and who are not democrats but corporatists, creating rigged local closed primaries instead of open local publically counted primaries and the DNC's hostilities toward Progressives is no secret.

Why the Democratic Presidential Candidates are allowing the DNC to select what issues can be addressed is beyond me?

Why don't these Presidential Candidates set up their own climate change and peace debates? since that is what the people want.

Connie, by now you should know that this country thrives on corruption. As long as that is the case then the zillion lawyers will continue to collect from it. They don't want solid clear laws, because that will make, that they loose their jobs. The "electoral college" should have been abandoned years ago, but yeah keep it in place to enable it to corrupt the voting system.

No this country is beyond help; sorry the Titanic will sink. Amen

That's what political parties do. It's the whole point of political parties.

What would you call CNN's Climate Town Hall on 9/4/19?

PC, can you give is your thoughts on Trump's idea that he appoint himself to the Supreme Court as "Master Chief Justice" while he is still president, and granting himself the legal power to overrule the other judges if he doesn't like their legal decisions, and pick all future replacements on the Supreme Court.. He seems to think its a great idea, it was suggested to him the other day while talking to Putin on the phone.

There WAS a time when Republicans and Democrats could actually work together. One example is the McGovern-Dole Food for Education Program.

IFED began in FY2000 as a pilot project and was called Global Food for Education Initiative (GFEI). The project used the donation of surplus agricultural commodities under Section 416 of the Agricultural Act of 1949 (P.L. 89-439, as amended) to support a global school feeding program. It was initially funded with $300 million in 2000 and known as GFEI until 2002, when it was incorporated into the 2002 farm bill under its present name. The Trump administration 2018 budget outline proposed to eliminate funding for the program, stating that it "lacks evidence that it is being effectively implemented to reduce food insecurity".

In recent years, both parties have been applying "purity tests" to their members in Congress. In 2014, the Arizona Republican Party censured John McCain because he wasn't conservative enough. In the last week, Arizona Democrats tried to censure Kyrsten Sinema because she occasionally voted with the Republicans, even though she voted against Trump's policies 81% of the time. She was elected to office precisely because she had had success working with "both sides of the aisle", but her vote for Bill Barr was too much for some members of the Party.

Yeah, this was pointed out recently during a round table discussion on MSNBC, primary about how Biden comes from a political era where there was significant more bipartisan efforts, and a lot more got done. It wasn't considered working with the enemy as it was now.

...However, there is also the broader perspective. A black woman at the same table pointed out that as we go further and further back in time, congress gets more and more white male dominated and many hold very similar political views, or close enough. Little or no women in congress, and only a couple minority men, and absolutely no openly LGBT in congress. As that changed, the left has gone further left to be INCLUSIVE, and the right is now stuck with Trump who is has become the a national symbol for being "A proud White American Racist". He makes racists everywhere feel good about themselves, makes them feel they don't have to hold back, and able to be publicly racists and on the job. Feel comfortable saying "Hey boy, we don't want your kind in this diner. And don't you dare back talk me because I have a gun, and not afraid to use it"

The "heading" was "the DNC today. I guess it is the DNC as always, an bunch of paper pushers with lots of talk but no action. ( looking at the Lewandowsky interview there is no shame either how bad it was) Since we've got the "mob" in the W.H. they have become only an "protest group" nothing else. They just bravely follow the "broken" system and make zero headway or run into the huge Trump "wall" with their dumb heads. So the DNC today is now just as useless as an dead donkey; costing the taxpayer money, but no results . That is the DNC today!!! Halejuja!
