I said previously that Trump would win in 2020. The NYT put out an article to that effect.

Also from Outside The Beltway:

The link from Outside The Beltway posits that Trump could lose the popular vote by even more than he did and still win a larger electoral college victory. If true it underscores how completely the Democratic experiment is failing because the founders failed to deal with slavery as well as the racism and xenophobia deeply embedded in our culture.
Dutch:
So far, 11 states have voted to give all of their electoral votes to whoever wins the national popular vote. Combined, the 11 states have 172 electoral votes among them - and all of them voted for Clinton in 2016. The accord will not go into effect until more states join to make up a 270 electoral college votes. It's POSSIBLE that more states may join, but I wouldn't count on it.

As you're aware, 5 presidents have lost the popular vote, but won in the electoral college. the strangest election was the one where the winner (John Quincy Adams) lost both the popular vote AND the electoral college vote - but got voted in by the house of Representatives.

He won't be stopped. There's too much garbage television to be watched instead. 38% of the population who votes 100% of the time beats 60% who vote sometimes.
The opposition is someone who bet on the right horse. We have 4 decent candidates but that is possibly not enough.
It is not the "voting", but the corruption surrounding it. First of all all the "indoctrination" via the certain kind of "media" like FOX and the "churches" as well the lack, in lots of area's here in the country, who get lousy education and only are interested in themselves and how it affects them, but refuse to look at the total picture of this country and its standing in the world. They don't worry about the "deficit" or an "racist" leader, or if defense spending skyrockets. They only worry about their salary and food on the table. So in general that is the "voter" here. Like someone said; "there is nothing wrong with Trump" ; I still have a job and food, so why should I care about that guy or what happens elsewhere.
Yes most of our education "money" goes elsewhere (like the "army); Trump just asked to reduce the money for education; keep them "dumb" then they will vote for me.
Dutch Wrote: Lonely, I've said a million times to get rid of the "electoral college"; just let votes count. Trump is an champion mobster who also influenced the "college" via bribes as he always does. Furthermore our election system is about the worst in the world; all the States have no uniform equipment or forms, which is asking for corruption. I use the "mail in ballot" but never get any confirmation if it has been counted. Especially in FL they tinker with it as has been proven many times. The other thing is "money"; no PAC "donations" no "fund raising" ; only "qualification" for the job should count. (Thus not based on stupid "rally's etc.) But yeah this country has never learned from their mistakes and rather stick with the old " corrupt" system of 1800. So who ever gets elected was never done based on qualification, but only on basis of who is the smartest in corrupting the system. "Money" never should be the the "driver" of any election. Amen
Dutch, I can’t remember the name of the book I was reading but the author talked about the election of 2016. He states that neither candidate got a majority of elegible voters. He called the people who didn’t vote “unserious” which I would apply to the bulk of the electorate.
Regarding PACs and spending, at one time the candidates were picked by the parties during and probably before the conventions. The advent of primaries has created a monster of unintended consequences. The American electorate is pathetic and gullible.
