"All the Money in the World" was a 2017 movie about J. Paul Getty, and the story centers around the kidnapping of his grandson, John Paul Getty III in 1973. Kevin Spacey originally portrayed J. Paul Getty, appearing in the film's initial marketing campaign. However, after multiple sexual misconduct allegations were leveled against Spacey, the role was recast with Plummer. Scenes were re-shot just a month prior to the film's release.

After Getty III' s parents divorced in 1964, his father (John Paul Getty Jr.) married model and actress Talitha Pol in 1966. Jr. was the third of 5 sons born to J. Paul Getty.

His 4th son, Gordon Getty, married Ann Gilbert (who he is still married to) in 1964 , but Cynthia Beck became his long term mistress some years later. Although the affair was a dirty secret for many years, it became public knowledge in 1999. The couple had 3 daughters together, but eventually split. After their romance fizzled, she moved in with a man named Girard Saenz, and they lived together in a Holmby Hills mansion that she bought in 2001. Public records show Beck and Saenz together own several pieces of property in Los Angeles and an office building in San Francisco.

Admittedly, this is a long tale, but here is the punch line.

Police in Los Angeles just raided the home, and seized more than 1,000 guns, and Girard Saenz was taken into custody. Authorities discovered the cache of weapons while serving a search warrant at the home in the 100 block of North Beverly Glen Boulevard at 4 a.m. Wednesday as part of a joint LAPD and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigation. Police launched the probe after they received an anonymous tip about a person manufacturing and selling guns at the home, said Officer Mike Lopez, an LAPD spokesman.

After posting a $50,000 bond, Gaenz was released from jail this morning.

It's likely that Cynthia Beck received a lot of money from Gordon Getty, since he sold Getty Oil to Texaco in the mid 1980's for $10 billion. He was still worth 2 billion in 2011. Holmby Hills is one of the pricier areas of Los Angeles. Her 8200 square foot home is located up the street from the Playboy Mansion, west of the home where Michael Jackson died, and east of Beyoncé and Jay Z‘s $88 million mansion.

Since Girard Saenz obviously was not short of money, why in the world wold he manufacture guns in a $7 million home?

To use a old time worn phrase, money does not buy happiness.

Arizona -- Yes the worn out phrase, "money does not buy happiness" applies to many children of the billionaire class. So they seek other ways for gaining recognition and purpose in life, and sometimes they cannot find it being culturally tone deaf of the problems of the "little people" in society.

The life and times of the billionaire magnates and their "rich kid" children make for interesting reading in the National Enquirer and other gossip magazines, but I'll stay away. I don't care to see photos of their mansions and cars and their drunken nights out on the town followed everywhere by the Paperazzi hoping to catch an embarrassing photo of them to sell to the magazines.

Yes, there are plenty of people here who hoard guns (in this case over 1000); probably lots of them who are Trump/NRA supporters and want to go to the streets if Trump would get impeached or removed; Trump himself even promoted such. Then on top of this the idiot DeSantis in FL wants teachers to have guns in the classroom. Some other NRA loving States wants the same. Yes, it was already an "banana republic" but is slowly but surely becoming number one of all the banana republics.
