The Dem's invited Barr next week to testify; Where are the brains? First of all Trump said he should not go. Second he will be exactly like Trump and won't answer anything or alone with: "I don't remember" or "I don't recall" so what is the use? or he just lies under oath. Sessions used to lie as hell, but never got penalized for it. I think the same will happen as with Kavanaugh ; there is no one who stands up and does something to get any farther than "word" games. Dem's wake up and don't waste your time on this "traitor"; go with whatever means after Trumps Tax returns; you will be surprised what you find out!!

Barr has now said he does not wants to go (because Trump told him?) I guess the Dem's should be happy if he does not show up, because it would have been an total waste of time; also he would never hand over an unredacted Mueller report, let alone answer any questions or just lie.

If they would be smart they should instead get Mueller to testify and ask pertinent questions about the "tax returns" , Kussners dealings with the Russians, Trumps finances, obstruction as well doing unlawful things. And of course ask him for the unredacted report.

Other than grilling Barr for his "misinformation" summary, I agree that there is less to learn from Barr except to perhaps catch him in a lie. What we need is Mueller to testify, and it's supposedly planned for later in May. That will be the more revealing than anything Barr has to say.

Schmidt, I said so as well. However the stupidity reigns here; they should invite Mueller FIRST and Barr later. Also then they can ask him for the unredacted report. Mueller is playing an stupid game; he wrote a letter to Barr at the end of March, that he did not agree with what Barr did. It just shows up now an month later; because the W.P. did some digging. Sorry but the Dem's are stupid to delay all of this; the same with the subpoena's. No this government does not know how to be efficient; bureaucrats have never learned that.

Here's the dumbest thing that I have read all say so far.

On the first page of the Washington Post was this comment by Bill Barr:

Attorney General William P. Barr said he thought that if Robert S. Mueller III did not think he could state whether he believed the president committed a crime, then he should not have investigated whether the president committed a crime. “That was the time to pull up,” he said.

That whole statement ignores the fact that you can't determine if a crime has been committed until you have investigated the crime.

Barr's comments, of course, are driven by the fact that Robert Mueller sent a letter to Barr in late March that criticized Barr's misleading summary of the report:

I think it is good that Barr will not be appearing at the House hearing tomorrow. It would be just more of what we saw today. Today Barr spent the entire senate hearing justifying every single Trump's actions. Hell, if Mueller report had included Trump having sex with under age girls, Barr would have found a way to justify it, something like this:

"The president did not know the girls were under the age 18. If 13yr girls look 18, how was the president to know they they were under age. When the president has affairs, he is not asking girls to see their drivers licence. If there is anyone to blame, its the young girls. The girls did not tell him they were 13yrs old, therefor it their fault, not the president. They should be arrested, not him"

Like any good defense attorney, Barr would have defended his client no matter what. It is Barr's job to sell this message to the public: "Donald Trump is not only 100% innocent of everything, He is the victim, and as AG of the DOJ, I am going find one or more people to blame"

Got to love Barr's rationalization for Trump's endless lying. Trump was not lying to the American public, he was lying to Fake News media. Its OK for the president lie to people who are perceived to be lairs. When Trump tweets contain lies, it is only directed at the media. If he tweets factual information, the tweet are aimed at his base. Makes perfect sense. Sometimes up means down, and down mean up. Also, left is only right when it is true, but left means right when its false.... Makes perfects sense if you can read Trump's mind at all times.

Also,[paraphrasing] "Its OK for the president to obstruct justice as long as he has the self-perception that he's innocent.

The stupidity continues; they are now still putting effort into chasing Barr, instead of concentrating on getting an unredacted "report" as well Trumps "tax returns". I call this the "one track" mind blackout.

Sorry people; from now onwards "chaos" rules. Common sense is long gone. La la land for sure.

Look like Barnum and Bailey is back in business, since the circus has now moved to Washington D.C.

Nancy Pelosi has now accused Bill Barr of lying to Congress because his previous testimony did not accurately reflect Mueller's displeasure with Barr's 4 page "summary".

Before the start of the 2nd day of questioning (which Barr did not show up for) Rep. Stephen Cohen (D-Tenn.) walked into the room carrying a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken and a plastic chicken. The clicks of cameras suddenly echoed throughout the room as watchers chuckled at his insinuation that Barr was too afraid to show up for questioning.

Not surprisingly, Barr has now missed a subpoenaed deadline to hand over the full, unredacted Mueller report — including demands for underlying evidence gathered by prosecutors.

While the House could move quickly to vote on a contempt citation against Barr, using it to obtain information from the Justice Department, such as the full Mueller report, could take years and not be resolved until long after Trump leaves office.

Nancy Pelosi said that Barr was lying; and then what? Some people said he should resign etc. So where is the "beef". Again the Dem's are weaklings all the way as always. Tough talk, that's all and Trump knows it. He plays his game and will stonewall everything until 2020 and win again with out pain, unless the Dem's show some real "backbone" and impeach Barr and then Trump. There must be an way to get his tax returns; steal them if you have too. Use every trick you can find; ask Mueller for the full unredacted report; if he won't give it then threaten with "jail" etc.

I've seen this "weak" attitude with "words" only (forever); it is time to have some guts. If not, the Dem's will loose again in 2020

Nadler says Barr must deliver the unredacted report by Monday or be held in contempt of Congress. We'll see.

I guess you know the "outcome" Barr already threatened to "destroy" the unredacted document, because the findings were not conclusive, thus the whole report has no merit. And the "start" of this inquiry was "illegally done" because the FBI "spied" on Trumps campaign. How lovely; la la land for sure.

If the Dem's don't show an backbone now, forget the elections.

Listening to some political analysts, the comment was made that Barr maybe intentionally playing the devils advocate as means to say "See what can happen if you elect a corrupt president, and he appoints a very smart AG who is willing to legally twist things to protect the president".... But ultimately Barr has plans to hand over all the evidence need to get Trump out of office, get Trump himself to sign off everything needed. The arguement was that Barr had to make a deal with Trump to get a redacted version released because Trump was going block the release of everything, no allowing the report to be released so ordered by the SC (2-4 years from now).

The "held in contempt" has been moved to Wednesday ; yes, just keep kicking the "can" down the road . Please wake up Dem's you are being taken to the "cleaners" if you continue this way. Pelosi will be sorry about her "weak" attitude.

I saw that Schumer agreed with his stupid China policy; is he nuts or something? Dem's are you digging your own grave? This does not end well for sure!

The "held in contempt" process has been initiated by Nadler. That entails committee discussions...the formal procedures. After those hearings on Monday and Tuesday the Judiciary Committee will hold a vote on Wednesday, and if that passes then it will be put to the full House floor for a vote. There is no "kicking the can down the road".

The penalty for being convicted of Contempt of Congress is a monetary fine of $1,000 and 12 months in jail.

However, as the NYT reports, Barr's deputy, "Stephen E. Boyd, said that the department was willing to meet Wednesday afternoon — after the scheduled contempt vote — “to negotiate an accommodation that meets the legitimate interests of each of our coequal branches of government.”

"Democrats have compiled a 27-page contempt report documenting their interactions with the attorney general and the scope of their own investigation of obstruction of justice and abuse of power."
