Right now the Dem's are with their backs against the "wall'

    Trump is now "blocking" everything:

(More obstruction then in the Mueller report?)

    1) no "tax returns"; MNuchin boycots it.

    2) No un-redacted Mueller report, Barr boycots it

    3) No interviews with anyone allowed; Trump threatens these people.

    4) No answers on "81" data requests. Total boycot.

    5) Total obstruction on anything the Dem's want.

    6) Keep on pushing for his "wall" and stopping immigration.

On top of that nothing can be brought forward to the AG because, he's in Trumps ass.

If the Dem's still want to pursue this, that may take until 2020 if "lawyers" and "courts" get involved (as was said on TV)

Which ever way if I was them, I would concentrate on the "tax returns" because that may put Trump in jail, because he likely never paid any and if researched, he'll probably owes millions in back taxes. His buddies went to jail for that.

Trump is may be stupid, but smart enough to built "walls" around himself for protection; he's got Barr and the Supreme Court in his pocket, so the Dem's are at a loss right now what to do.

What are the options for the Dem's if any?

There's one thing Donald seems to forget that House Democrats control that he can't do anything about - the power of the purse.

If Donald wants to play hard ball then I only imagine that Nancy will respond in kind. It may just not be as fast as you'd like.

Dutch, I don't see any benefit pursuing time consuming ventures this close to the election. All the Democratic candidates are or should be onboard with living wage, healthcare and college education. Right now the candidates should unite explaining how Democrats reality support those issues and how Trump is historically against them. One platform explaining how Democrats can return the country to prosperity by spending and promoting high tax marginal rate with a transactional tax penalizing non jobs producing trading. Lots of good paying jobs and Make America Fair Again .

Chet, just stick your head in the sand. Sure it would be wonderful to have something the "normal" way, so this country can concentrate on who's best suited to help this country move forward. However if Trump and his cronies can do whatever they like, how will that effect the next President ?(if it is not Trump). If it will be Trump, then we end up for sure into an real dictatorship.

So something has to be done to stop this "coup" by Trump.

Trump won with "Lots of Good Paying Jobs" and "Make America Great Again". That has to be the battle cry of 2020 Democratics.

Or is the consensus that the working class doesn't need any help!!!!

Kudlow was on CNBC; he claims ALL is fantastic as well the GDP is great, all the jobs are great, the earnings are great, and Trump is great ; so he says the "working class don't need help".

My only message is, just wait till all of this comes crashing down; it happened not so long ago; if you get an artificial "peak" like in 1932 by doing what Trump did, then eventually it will crash.

Probably Schmidt can dig up the statistics, related to the "deficit" which will show that each time that the GOP made an tax cut for the rich, that you get an short "peak" and then an long "crash". Just ask Obama how much effort was needed to get things back to "normal" again after the GOP was in power.

    Dutch:

    Ask and you shall receive.

The link below is very detailed, and it explains why tax cuts (regardless of what party passes them) are almost always a bad idea, since negative growth usually results soon after.

The administrations of both Eisenhower and Clinton are excellent examples of why taxes are actually a good thing.

Ike was the last Republican president to balance the budget, and Clinton was the last Democratic president to do it.

Since the "gap" between the rich and the poor only have widened, it means the rich are richer than ever before and don't even know how to spent their excess money. An example is the Notre Dame rebuilt; the rich donated in no time half a billion Euro's without blinking or donate $6 million to Biden in one day, as well Trump 30 million in one month. So don't pity them but "tax" them. As well tax the hell out of Trump's free loading of tax payers money. He spent already over 750 million on himself and his trips; what did the taxpayers get for it? A beautiful "wall" or Melania's wardrobe?

But yeah, who cares if the deficit keeps going sky high. Not Trump's worry at all. Yes Trump went "bankrupt" quite a few times, and now he's making us"bankrupt" as well. Congratulations America.
