Right now there are so many national as well international issues which may affect the elections in a big way.

Especially the developments in the middle east and "religious" frictions may escalate and draw the attention away from our elections. Also don't forget N.Korea; nothing has been improved there lately. The world is right now full of "tensions" especially on the "religious" field, like what happened in Sri Lanka. We are not "helping" either by giving Israel the rights to occupy the Golan Heights as well approve of other "illegal" things they do. Also on how the Trump regime "treats" Muslims and "the Muslim ban" will help to ignite the fire. That is what you get having "super" religious idiots in our government who refuse to see the world as it is, but only look through their "colored bible glasses".

Thus a lot can happen before the "elections" which may change the minds of people if another "war" is started, because of the stupid politics we play in the world. I wish that Kerry would run for President, he at least knew what the middle east is all about.

The only way we will lose the election is if Bernie or busters throw another hissy fit if their patron saint isn't the nominee. I think most left of center Americans will vote for whoever has a D next to their name, but if it's not Bernie then his buster army may very well hand the election to Donald a 2nd time because it's their way or the highway.

As I highlighted in another thread (from Forbes):

No. 3: 26% of current Bernie Sanders supporters said that they would rather vote for President Donald Trump over Senator Elizabeth Warren, if that were the eventual 2020 matchup.

Since Elizabeth Warren is the closest to Sanders in the political sphere, it is difficult to understand. I would surmise that the Bernie or Busters see Warren as an immediate threat to their guy. She is eight years younger than Sanders and is obviously more articulate and smart...an accomplished law professor before moving into politics. Oh but she is a woman.

I'm wondering if that hard left part of Bernie's revolution believes that the revolution cannot happen as long as most of the population is fairly satisfied with their lives...from jobs to health insurance to families and homes. Until everyone is discontented you cannot have revolution. But the kind of revolution they envisage probably involves bloodshed.

Okay, that's a "thinking out loud" idea. I'm not going to defend it. Just trying to make sense of these Bernie supporters...not all of them, just that crazy 26 percent who would vote for Trump before Elizabeth Warren. They're anarchists of sorts.

You are 100% right. The Bernie or busters will find it beyond comprehension if Bernie does not get the nomination. I have no idea what they will do in retribution but they are looking at being denied a right to life because people will not support Bernie because he is a Democratic Socialist.

    Schmidt, You nailed it.

"Cannot happen as long as most of the population is fairly satisfied with their lives...from jobs to health insurance to families and homes"

Hillary said the exact same thing leading up to the deplorable connotation .

Sorry I was not talking about Bernie; it is the "influence" from the outside which may affect the elections such as an "war" with Iran. Certainly the "evangelicals" may support that. Also all kinds of "hacking" may be possible as well, because Trump has nothing done to stop it. The whole "circus" with 12 or more candidates does not help Bernie either; he stays the spoiler.

I just read that all "social services" may run out of money if the present status is maintained; I doubt if Trump and his cronies want to "reserve" more money for it, but instead may drastically curtail it instead. So the focus should be on that.

Thus I'm afraid lots of things will influence these elections as well lots of surprises. Such as Trumps "tax returns" which may be never show up, neither an complete unredacted Mueller report.

    VOX:

"PRRI concluded: “White working-class voters who say they often feel like a stranger in their own land and who believe the U.S. needs protecting against foreign influence were 3.5 times more likely to favor Trump than those who did not share these concerns.”

This garbage is exactly why we have Donald in charge of our nuclear codes. You and your busters "my way or the highway" mentality is ruining our country.

Think about this for a second, Chet. If it weren't for Bernie or busters we'd currently have a left of center majority on the Supreme Court and countless more left of center federal district and appellate court judges. But no! Your "no compromise" mentality gave us Donald Trump, a far right wing Supreme Court, and dozens and dozens of lower level judges who serve lifetime stints on the bench.

I hope your little hissy fit was worth ushering in a far-right judiciary for the rest of my life. You Bernie or busters are really showing us who's boss.

Yes Jared you are right; however Bernie may become an "spoiler" again and Trump may then win again." L'histoire ce repette" . Will this country ever learn?

Adding to Jared's comments. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows that:

"Only 25 percent of respondents ranked “socialist” as a desirable trait for a candidate. Only 37 percent said “someone over 75” was desirable, according to the survey, released on Sunday. More voters were accepting of candidates who were gay or lesbian, independent or under 40."

Senator Bernie Sanders, a self described socialist, is 77. I think he and his "yellow jackets" should depart the race before they do more damage.

Bernie a spoiler again??? The only candidate that can see the clear way out of the mess the country is in and you call him a spoiler????

    Your link says:

"U.S. Voters Don’t Want Socialist or Very Old President"

You know that is a bold faced lie. You can't begin to prove that "U.S. Voters Don’t Want Socialist or Very Old President"

Spreading false rumors falls under the accusation that you accused me of when you said that I was harming Hillary's Campaign.

To talk about the only person that has in his heart the solutions is really questionable???

Questionable tactics and Yellow Jackets???? Shame.
