According to several political analysis Trump is intentionally leaving top level department heads vacant.

There are number reasons why it is to his advantage to do this. The biggest reason is that leaving it vacant, he avoids congress approval by leaving it vacant, thus leave the "acting" head of the department there indefinitely. This gives Trump more direct control, and less over sight from congress.

One thing is very clear, Trump is gaming the system.

wwjd -- Yes Trump said that himself. With acting heads he has more flexibility to shuffle people in and out without Senate approval. Otherwise, it's just musical chairs moving already approved by Senate department heads into other lateral positions. In any case, he doesn't give a crap about qualifications for the job...just loyalty to him and willing to do what he says.

Sorry it is not just "musical chairs" is is an "planned" takeover of the government so Trump can be a "dictator"

He said: "I alone can fix it". But yeah lots of people are not aware of what he's doing.

Sure Trump might have secret aspirations of being a rich dictator like Putin, but his current motivation, I believe, is more about self preservation, and that requires Trump to stack every agency, cabinet and the judiciary with "Trump loyalists". With Barr he has the man he thought he had with Sessions until Sessions recused himself.

Trump's biggest worry is to have his financial dealings and wealth (or lack of it) exposed. Mueller seems to have kept his charge fairly narrow to just "Russian collusion" but the obstructionism is probably related more to blocking any attempts of financial disclosures. Those will be litigated in New York and Congress.

Barr is now the "protector-in-chief" of anything of Trump's that smells fishy. But that fish is now rotting from the head, and the smell might be too great for some Trump loyalists. Justice may take a while longer, but it will be served.

Schmidt, yes you are again right on. But yeah what irritates me, is the very slow turning wheels of an "politicalized" Justice; especially in the Supreme Court, which also have a few Trump "loyalist" in its midst.
