There was wording in the presidents speech that used the term rebuilding programs. That was part of Warren's campaign message. He has brought everyone together for now. Hopefully the former president stays very involved until late November.

The COVID-19 has given everyone a break from 24x7 political campaigning and likely brought a quicker end to Sander's campaign. This has been good for Biden and Democrats.

COVID-19 also limits Trump's daily trash talking otherswise his name calling and rallies would be perceived as taking a dump on the graves of those who have died (not that he really cares). Trump is itching to start having his rallies again so he can whip out his so-called big C*** to impressive his base and show that as President of US that when it comes to pissing contests, he is The King that nobody can touch.

I really like Joe, but I have anxiety every time he opens his mouth. I sure hope that other moderate candidates stay in the race even if they do not make the debate. They need to be ready to step in when Biden makes a really big gaffe.

Schmidt, your comment was about 7 months ago. I understand the concern. What is interesting is that Biden's tendency to make gaffes is what makes him "very likable" to a high percentage of Trump supporters. Example, if Trump were suddenly not be able to run for re-election, Biden would very likely get millions of Trump supporters voting for him.... Trump is very threaten by Biden because Biden's personality appeals to Trump's main demographic base.

IMO, in 2016, Biden would have cleaned up if he had been the democratic candidate. He matches up extremely well against Trump when it comes to the swing voters that Trump got in 2016 because those swing voters did not like HC. Biden is going to get a majority of those voters in 2020, more than enough to push Biden over the top.

Yes Biden is authentic and comes across as empathetic and sincere, despite the gaffs. And yes the gaffs make him human. Nothing phony. I admit to having doubts especially as he was floundering in the the first three states. But Jim Clyburn gave him a reason to run, something I think was missing from his spirit up until then. After South Carolina he was a new man, energized...or to borrow from the Obama campaign, "fired up and ready to go."

I will still have anxiety about the stress of the campaign and office, but in a way the coronavirus "stay at home" policy may be good for him. No more battleground states to fight Bernie in the primaries. It helps to have the nomination wrapped up with key endorsements. But watch the Republican muckrakers come out in full force in the fall. They are ruthless.

Schmidt, the point is what will Biden inherit? The mess is only getting bigger and by November then this whole country is ready for the "crazy" house. If Trump stays, then the chaos will make this like Venezuela ; yes that is what you get without solid laws and an "electoral college" which was "bribed" by Trump and he will "bribe" it again. May be the guy is stupid, but he learned at least all the "mafia" tricks and "built in" loopholes in our laws designed by our zillion corrupt lawyers. and knows how to "pay off" the opponents as he did with the "impeachment votes". Also he made sure that all the important positions in the government and some States were "filled" with "solid incompetent loyalists"

So, only an total revamp and cleanup of our laws as well create desperately needed laws for any President and clearly describe his limits will help. However this country is too stupid and set in their ways, to even think about it and loves to muddle on with this total "corrupt" system until they all die and this country is wiped from the map. Amen

Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden said Thursday that he has started assembling a presidential transition team and is considering whether to elevate an official tasked with addressing pandemics to his Cabinet.

Pre-election cabinet announcements would be highly usual. But the possibility reflects a campaign trying to project competence and preparedness, qualities it hopes will contrast with Trump, who Biden is casting as chaotic and woefully unreliable in moments of crisis.

For now, he has made the pandemic his central focus. In an appearance on CNN Thursday night, Biden dismissed Trump’s guidelines for reopening the country as “not a plan” and mostly focused on criticizing the White House over coronavirus testing.

Joe Biden, sexual assaulter? I noticed Trump is quiet about this. But then there's always the Ukraine thing with Joe's son.

    Said that guy in Arizona:

is considering whether to elevate an official tasked with addressing pandemics to his Cabinet

When in fact that person should be his Vice President. Something like that shouldn’t be made public.

Chet, it should be clear by now that the present "system and "laws" need an drastic reform, especially in the present situation it is very clear that nothing works as it should be. Nothing here is systematic and good organized. Chaos seems to be Trump's hobby. Of course he has never learned to delegate, because he does not even trust Pence or anyone else. The only one's who he trusts are his "ass crawlers". Yes it will be an lot of fun to watch the coming elections; it will be total chaos and corruption with the votes. Trump thrives on "corruption" but the people here, especially the Trump Party find everything he does "tremendous". It is an real dumb "indoctrinated "cult" nothing else.

I just wonder if Biden is able to correct things and make this an normal country again. Praying alone will not help!

Yeah, a bit overdone. I believe that he's not the guy/gal we need to fight Trump. So Dem's wake up and get an real "fighter" who dares to call Trump what he is. Adam Schiff is at least someone with decency and who dares to say the truth. I wonder about Biden; I seldom have seen him do some real action. Religious people like him aren't always good "analysts" of facts or human behavior and often live in another fantasy world.

Looking at all the candidates, I wonder who can "tackle" Trump and his "corrupt" cronies.

In the end, with no candidates you like, you'll probably vote for don anyways, he alone can save us.

Dock, indeed lots of people likely will not vote at all due to the "virus" thing and the awful candidates which we ended up with. Therefore I still think Trump may win because he has an"box" full of deceit and tricks. What does Biden has to offer?

Of course I hope Biden wins, but looking at the present picture with this country in total chaos, I wonder if Biden has the "backbone" to fix things. Don't forget the Trump Party (and FOX News) will make his life miserable and will obstruct everything. Also if McConnell stays, forget everything, the Supreme Court will likely become all "red".

Sorry to say I do not see very many positive things for the future of this country. Especially if they keep the "laws" the way they are. Biden can now also become an "dictator" if he wishes, because Trump proved that such is possible.
