Which ever way you look at it the US policy towards Israel will lead to an even bigger war in the Middle East. The latest is that Trump/Pence/Pompeo approved that Israel does land grabbing in the Golan Heights. Also the move of the US Embassy to Jerusalem (costing millions of our taxpayer money) as well the cancellation of the Iran nuke deal are all in favor towards Israel and Netanyahu . The reason is, of course to please the evangelicals here; their votes count for Trump.

But yeah Netanyahu is now accused of similar corrupt things as the Trump family; so sort seeks sort.

This "policy" will eventually backfire; Israel as a country is not at all "holy" in their actions, especially towards Muslims/Palestinians; the already built a "wall" to keep them out, just like Trump would love to have one.

All of this will irritate the Muslim world; they will solidify their territory under lead of Iran with the help of Russia. In the end they will target Israel. The US can again be blamed for that. That is the "curse" of supporting religion instead of impartial governing without "religion" driving it, as always is done the wrong way in this country.

As you say, this will do nothing but agitate the Muslim world.

World Leaders have Trump totally profiled. They know he is highly impulsive and stroking his ego will get him to make quick decisions without consulting anybody.

Trump has no problem of erasing 50 years of good\strong foreign policy if he personally gains something from it, and telling Trump "You are the greatest leader in the history of the world" can be enough to motivate trump to hand over the keys to kingdom or destroy long standing American policy during a single meeting at the White House. He loves being treated like the Godfather; come beg and bow for a favor that has been off the table for 50+ years, so that he can demand personal business favors in return at a later date. Trump has struck the biggest oil gusher of his life, selling American policies for personal gain. Not directly or overtly, just make it clear that someday, the favor needs to be returned TO HIM. There are billions of profit to be made in the selling American policies that have been long standing non-negotiable issues.

Got to bet there are Trump Towers are in Israel's future, or so Trump currently believes

Yes, Pence and Pompeo would love to have Trump built an "temple" like hotel on the spot where the ashes of "jesus" presumably are floating around (sorry my mistake; they floated to Mars) then the name of the hotel will be the Trump/Jesus hotel in large "golden letters". All the "evangelicals" get an discount card of 5% for their stay there. (one overnight stay is about per person is $ 1800.- in the basement) An real bargain; as an present you get an small sac of Israel dirt on which Jesus walked, once you sign in. Hallejuja.

You normally would not think of Syria as a country that is concerned about human rights, but Syria is the country that requested an urgent security Council meeting about the Golan Heights. Syria is NOT one of the 15 members of the security council.

    https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019/03/syria-requests-urgent-security-council-meeting-golan-190327065204978.html

As Dutch has already mentioned, the REASON that Trump recognized Israel's sovereignty over the territory is to placate his evangelical base:

    https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/trump-recognised-israel-claim-golan-heights-190326110207566.html

The evangelical community supports Zionism, although for a different reason than Jews, and a number of its members occupy prominent positions in the Trump administration. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo touted his evangelical links on his recent visit to Israel. Asked by the Jerusalem-based Christian Broadcasting Network interviewer whether Trump was sent by God like "Queen Esther to help save the Jewish people from the Iranian menace", Pompeo replied: "As a Christian, I certainly believe that's possible."

Pompeo is a member of the Tea Party division of the Republican Party, and he is fond of the Heritage Foundation. In a talk at the Heritage Foundation on May 21, 2018, entitled, "After the Deal: The New Iran Strategy", Pompeo said, "First as a private citizen and then as a member of Congress, and even today, the Heritage Foundation has shaped my thinking on matters of the world and public policy issues

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Pompeo

Pompeo has some very goofy opinions on MANY other topics:

"Federal policy should be about the American family, not worshiping a radical environmental agenda." He has called the Obama administration's environment and climate change plans "damaging" and "radical". He opposes the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions by the United States

Pompeo opposed the Affordable Care Act (ACA)

Pompeo has stated that life begins at conception and believes that abortions should be allowed only when necessary to save the life of the mother.

Pompeo supported the United States federal government shutdown of 2013, blaming President Obama

He is a lifetime member of, and has been endorsed by, the National Rifle Association

In 2015 in a talk at a church, Pompeo said that "politics is a never-ending struggle ... until the Rapture.

As I explained in my blog post of May 15, 2018, the land occupied by Israel has a LONG and complicated history.

Due to the horrors of the Holocaust, most of the world (but not most of the Arabs) concluded that the Jewish people needed their own homeland, and the United States has poured BILLIONS of dollars in aid to the country since 1948. If you adjust for inflation, it's a staggering $234 billion. When Natenyahu addressed our congress when John Boehner was speaker, the right wing claimed that we didn't support Israel if we did not approve of his speech.

    Bullshit.

    https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/business/.premium-u-s-aid-to-israel-234-billion-over-60-years-1.5234820

Although the historic Egypt/Israel peace treaty was signed when Jimmy Carter was president, peace in that area is less certain today than it was then due to the fact that Israel has taken a hard turn to the right, a dangerous trend not only there but in many other countries as well - including ours. There are far too many countries in the world that agree with Trump that "there are fine people on both sides".

    There aren't.

    https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/hating-muslims-loving-zionists-israel-model-190322145619468.html

Israel's success in making its war on Palestinians a global cause, shared among far-right ideologues worldwide is not just a danger to world peace, but a precursor for more deadly violence, from Gaza to Quebec to Christchurch.

If you need further proof that the Democrats and the Republicans are going to keep moving further apart, today's GOP USA has a couple of stories that highlight the fact.

The Grand Old Party is still clinging to their guns, and they are horrified that Muslims are criticizing Israel:

I guess the US and its Trump clan has no idea at all what they are doing; promising Saudi Arabia "nuclear" stuff and help to develop such, will only be an threat to their "sweetheart" Israel. I'm amazed that Trump "hates" Muslims but loves to sell them "weapons" an "loves" to party with them. As well Kussner who is an Jew. If the Trump clan continues on this "two faced" path; disasters are imminent. Don't forget Mecca is the "center" of the Muslim world; Jerusalem the "center" of the Christian world. Helping both with weapons will lead eventually to WWIII. I guess Trump and his cronies only see the "money" for themselves but not the danger.

This morning, Netanyahu announced that he wants to name a new town in the Golan Heights after Trump, to reward Trump for his acceptance of Israel's sovereignty there.

Help please. I had a conversation with an active evangelical. That person said:

"If the peace deal in Israel gets signed on may 9th l, we will have only seven years till Jesus returns so keep watching current events as it relates to biblical prophecy."

Any body have any insight to the basis of this type of thinking.

What it seems to me is they don't care what happens because if the peace deal is signed all is good.

What I am anecdotally aware of is prophecies like this fit a stand of 5 to 10 years to fruition in order to drive financial contributions keyed to a fixed relative time frame .

How sick can you get; Trumps name on"stolen" property. Wow, fits the "mob". Trump Tower Moscow sounds more like it is. All of this instead of the "Nobel Peace Price"? I hope the last time he's got his name on anything will be on his grave stone.

An Associated Press article this morning pointed out the fact that there are a lot similarities between Netanyahu and Trump:

    https://azdailysun.com/news/world/israel-in-chaos-parliament-dissolves-new-election-set-after-benjamin/article_b4283bfa-f3d1-5b24-a8b9-d797a8c5cdfb.html

Early this morning, Israel's newly elected Knesset dissolved itself in an early morning 74-45 vote and set a new election date for Sept. 17.

The developments were a shocking setback for Netanyahu, who had appeared to secure a comfortable win in last month's election. But he was unable to build a parliamentary majority because his traditional ally, Avigdor Lieberman, refused to bring his Yisrael Beiteinu faction into the coalition.

"This has nothing to do with 'the right'," Lieberman, a West Bank settler, said at a press conference. "This is about a cult of personality and not any political ideology."

Netanyahu's allies in the ruling Likud had already begun drafting a contentious bill aimed at granting him immunity from the various corruption charges awaiting him.

The political uncertainty could also spell trouble for the White House's Mideast peace efforts. The U.S. has scheduled a conference next month in Bahrain to unveil what it says is the first phase of its peace plan, an initiative aimed at drawing investment into the Palestinian territories.

My question is, if we are going to continue to screw the Palestinians, how is that a peace plan?

Things just got worse in "the promised land".

U.S. ambassador David Freidman, just said that Israel has the right to annex part of the West Bank. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised to begin annexing Jewish settlements in the West Bank, a move that would violate international law and could be a fatal blow to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
