Yadda, yadda, yadda. She told the story of a person that died because of cutting insulin dose size because they couldnt afford medicine cost. There should have been an outrageous call by her to immediately start wrongful death prosecutions of drug prices. These stories are daily occurences. What does somebody like Trump think when he doesn't see outrage from the people while people die needlessly cause they can't afford to live. Amy's follow-up,

Jan 10, 2019 · “The skyrocketing prices of prescription drugs have made ... for the people who need them,” Klobuchar said. ... This bill would stop drug makers from orchestrating .

" Not soon enough and not comprehensive enough "

This is a right wing solution. Not even centrist. Grassley???

Grassley was a senator 35 years ago—a very conservative Republican from Iowa

Ms. Klobuchar has now become the latest Democrat to announce her candidacy for president. Although it is WAY too soon to predict who will become the eventual nominee, I've come across a couple of articles that have given the opinion that she would be the best combination of "fighter and healer". Shortly after her announcement, Trump went to full stupid mode again on Twitter:

“Amy Klobuchar announced that she is running for president, talking proudly of fighting global warming while standing in a virtual blizzard of snow, ice and freezing temperatures. Bad timing.”

Walk down the street in New Mexico, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas or Florida and ask 3 random citizens who she is. Most won't know. She too is very capable but aside from the day she announced most don't know her. It's a long hard road. I wish her well. I am skeptical that she will get too far.

I cant accept that she didnt end her story with a war cry about the person dying because of lack of funds for insulin. Too many people think this is an easy way to be president. She made too much about giving her speech in the cold and not enough about people dying daily. She is a prosecutor and should have introduced emergency price controls on drugs. People are dying daily.

Chet, most politicians want to use such to get a "foothold", but they always forget that tackling such subject that you always have to start with the "how come" question. (cause and effect) In this case , get rid of the "lobbying" and " hospital/doctors corruption" and stupid "adds" as well "oversight". Copy Europe who have the system in place already for years and years to prevent all of this. In Spain about "one tenth" the cost of here.

No one here has said where she stands on the issues. Well Senator Klobuchar is a centrist Democrat: She supports making the Affordable Care Act stronger and has not hopped on the BernieCare (aka Medicare for all -- free everything for all) bandwagon.

She has not embraced Sen. Sanders free college for everyone. Rather she has called for a federal-state partnership that pays for two tuition-free years of school for students in community, technical or tribal college programs. In her Education website she has a long impressive list of education initiatives that she has sponsored or supported as a Minnesota Senator.

Ms. Klobuchar has not joined Rep Ocasio-Cortez's movement to abolish the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (aka ICE). "We are always going to need immigration enforcement," Klobuchar said on ABC's "This Week." "I think what has to change are the policies, and the people that are making these policies are making horrendous decisions like separating kids from their parents."

Her staff member says she supports the New Green Deal, but Klobuchar did not mention it in her speech.

She sounds more like a Hillary Clinton on the issues than a Bernie Sanders. I'll dig more.

Klobuchar is more like HC on the issues. A major difference is that she does not have HC political baggage and appears to have a boarder appeal. She would be more of a president that the Republicans would respect and be willing to work with, along with Joe Bidden. In other words, she would likely make deals on most issues (ie let them have their guns, Dreamers get citizenship), and that could tick off the far left that are demanding 100% or nothing, hit a grand slam or strike out; base hits that scores 1-2 runs to win the game is not good enough. Even though I might agree with some far left ideas, I tend to see the far left as being a mirror image of the far right; winner gets all the spoils, and the looser gets nothing, or worse.

And if Klobuchar becomes the next president, you can bet HC will be one of her first appointments. AG maybe? She got a law degree from Yale.

How can she reconcile poor people, millions of poor people, suffering more and dying earlier because of lack of health care with a right wing attitude about health care.

Same for AOC and GND. Khashoogi was one man whose death got attention. What about the thousands that suffer and die every day because of lack of health care?
