That Orwellian World is alive and well and this is an accurate description of America's corrupt, corporate mass news media and the proof of that is when it made sure that those two weeks in December in Poland where the UN climate change conference was held never was reported on and that that US Oligarchy and the Saudi government made sure that this conference would not achieve its goal to reduce climate change.

The only conclusion one can come to is that the fossil fuel corporations are run by a gang of psycho, sociopathic, greedy, soulless degenerates and a curse upon them and their entire evil kind.

Connie -- I would respectfully disagree. I followed the goings on at the Poland UN Climate Change Conference with the Washington Post and New York Times, as well as some mention on MSNBC. But I will agree with you that it wasn't enough. Trump seems to suck up all the oxygen out of the air, but for anyone wanting to find out, you are just a fingertip away on your keyboard. And then there is always Vox, one of my favorites for in-depth reporting:

Countries have forged a climate deal in Poland — despite Trump

Since the US is an huge polluter and no longer participates, it does not help the environment if others comply but the US does not. Our oceans are full of plastic and junk, also our cruiseships dump their junk all over. Here in Fl we have now just about a year long "red" tide, while Scott (ex governor) pocketed 220 million from the polluters and others. Our EPA is hollowed out and the industry can pollute all they like. Only for the MONEY! But yeah once we all die at an early age then the rich will leave and will pollute their own island somewhere and move again and leave the pollution behind. Etc etc.

What wonderful country we have become.

Believe it or not, the GOP is the first to admit that their climate policies are misguided. The article below appeared in GOPUSA today, and it confirms the fact that the states that voted for Trump are the hardest hit by climate change. According to Wikipedia, the newspaper that actually published this article has been a historically conservative newspaper.

But global warming is a hoax

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will be attending the Arctic Council meeting next week. The Trump administration would like to remove references to climate change in an international statement about Arctic policy, even though the Arctic is warming about twice as fast as the rest of the planet, with implications for sea levels, weather patterns and more.

Sending Pompeo there will certainly help; the guy is just an dumb fat turkey who knows nothing. Just the paper boy of Trump.

Hamilton Beach is just one of several New York City communities that are regularly flooded by high tides. Many of these neighborhoods are clustered around Jamaica Bay, including nearby Broad Channel and Howard Beach, and in each of these areas, saltwater has come up into the streets every month for decades.

In recent years, however, residents have reported a dramatic increase in the frequency and volume of these floods."

“It really has gotten worse over the years, as you talk to some residents who have been here, or their grandparents were here,” says Joseph P. Addabbo Jr., the New York state senator for District 15, which encompasses Hamilton Beach, Howard Beach, Broad Channel, and several other chronically flooded Queens neighborhoods. “People have lived in there for generations, so they understand it, they know how to live with it, but they will also tell you that is has changed over the years,” Addabbo explains. “If not more frequent, there is certainly more water.”

These local observations are supported by larger studies, which have reported an increase in tidal flooding in many parts of the coastal United States. “Federal scientists have documented a sharp jump in this nuisance flooding—often called ‘sunny-day flooding’—along both the East Coast and the Gulf Coast in recent years,” according to a 2016 New York Times article. “The sea is now so near the brim in many places that they believe the problem is likely to worsen quickly.

Several articles popped up today that prove that the Republican Party is clueless when it comes to climate change or protecting the environment:

    1) Beto O'Rourke respectfully but forcefully disagreed with a climate change denier in Iowa

    2) Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt is pushing ahead on a large copper mine in southern Arizona, and also reversed a ruling that would have delayed the development of a huge housing development just north of the Mexican border.

    3) Mike Pompeo, in Finland, said that he thinks that global warming is a good thing because it opens up more shipping lanes in the Arctic.

    4) the United Nations climate committee just issued a report that said that climate change may be causing as many as 1,000,000 species to be on the verge of extinction.

But "global warming is a hoax".

It is hard to believe that intelligent people are still quoting that bumbling, bubblebrained baboon in the white house, the only sensible and sane approach to his idiotic comments is to ignore them not to repeat them.

Just like the students in Parkland, Florida had more impact on gun legislation than the majority of our lawmakers, changes on climate are going to come about due to a 16 year old Swedish girl named Greta Thunberg,
