I don't see a strong unifying Democratic message. Almost any source says the top issues on voter's minds is healthcare and wages. The midterms could have been a Blue tsunami if the top issues were pushed. Multiple sources have identified a less than winning attitude from the Democratic candidates. I think the reason Democratics are toned down on wages is Bernie Sanders. The major voices are relatively quiet be cause talking wages and healthcare is like campaigning for Bernie. The silence is good for Bernie because when forced to talk issues it will lead right to Bernie. When presidential talk starts Bernie is going to emerge as the perfect candidate. People and especially milennials are going to shed and toss off all the innuendo and undertones tying socialist to cold war propaganda. The best programs in the world are Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. When people realize or are taught these are all social programs there will be a Blue Tsunami.

Dockadams -- Thanks for sharing "what we believe". As a former Democratic Party Precinct Chair many of those listed items originated as resolutions by participants in the grass roots precincts. They worked their way up the chain and became part of the Democratic Party Platform. I am proud to have contributed to those efforts although I no longer have a formal position other than "grass roots volunteer" in knocking on doors of constituents to listen and discuss. Participation in our democracy has personal rewards to me, but I like to think it has also made a difference in some small way.
