    A view from the trenches

I just got a hit of Moses in a meme and it brought up a funny situation I thought I would share.

When I was in the army I had this priest stand before us. I was raised in the big 'c', and though I had fire and brimstone priests, most had been "Jesus the hippy" leaning.

I'd spat out the 'body and blood' long before this, so I was simply happy not to be doing pushups.

This guy, a 'man of god', told us very matter-of-factly that 'yes 'big 10, number 5' say no killing, but that doing so in 'god's' name is not just acceptable, but just and will be lauded'. That we were doing 'gods work' with bombs and bayonets.

Further he stated that the way to make it in 'god's' name was post extermination/wholesale slaughter, you just gotta bend the priests ear, spew a couple prayers, and all is right as rain.

    'Washed away'.

To kill the next question he informed us he or someone like him will be giving last rights right there in the trenches. So 'kill, not just with impunity, but the 'holy blessing', get killed we got your back, salvation is assured'.

The song we ended the 'good word' with was 'god is love'. Then back to the PT.

A different guy with a collar blessed our M-16s later.

"The love of god will protect you with this instrument of his power" then a splash of 'holy H2O' and all was right in the World.

    God is love.

    Thoughts?

    Good luck out there

Trump has his minions mesmerized by an act of god. They have no power or choice in rejecting him. The same power Hitler and Mussolini and Stalin had over their people. Self determinist will deny it because they believe their is no superior power. You want a message you got one , Trump. He has no reason to be where he is but he is. Doesn't make sense unless it's realized he is a challenge to righteous people to stop the craziness. There are some stirrings so maybe the people will be served.

Robert, you should know by now, that no one gives a sh....t about if you get killed in one of our fantastic wars. Only the war industry cares, so they can make some more war tools. There is nothing in outerspace who cares about dead people, let alone "live" people; this planet sits all very lonely in space, without any interference by anything beyond this tiny planet.. People are just microbes in the universe and are way too busy ruining their own planet. Also those priests are totally nuts, "believing" that they can save your ass ; they are just also humans and follow the same path as any living thing. Writing "bibles/corans" is also purely an human invention; they were not written by "green" little men from Mars. Thus accept that "snake oil" is sold here every day as an "weird" human custom purely as an tool to get power over the ignorant/naive people on this globe. Death is permanent.

Yes, good lead in to a song that was going through my head after I read the entire post. In God we trust? May God bless you and your weapons? Thou shalt not kill? How dare they keep to that and many other sayings, after they give you blessed weapons of destruction? America has blood on it's hands all over the world.

    Sky Pilot:

He blesses the boys as they stand in line
    The smell of gun grease
    And the bayonets they shine
He's there to help them all that he can
To make them feel wanted he's a good holy man
    Sky pilot,
    Sky pilot,
    How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never reach the sky.

He smiles at the young soldiers
    Tells them it's all right
He knows of their fear in the forthcoming fight
Soon there'll be blood and many will die
Mothers and fathers back home they will cry
    Sky pilot,
    Sky pilot,
    How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never reach the sky.

He mumbles a prayer and it ends with a smile
    The order is given
    They move down the line
But he'll stay behind and he'll meditate
But it won't stop the bleeding or ease the hate

As the young men move out into the battle zone
He feels good, with God you're never alone
He feels tired and he lays on his bed
Hopes the men will find courage
In the words that he said
    Sky pilot,
    Sky pilot,
    How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never reach the sky.

You're soldiers of God, you must understand
The fate of your country is in your young hands
    May God give you strength
    Do your job real well
If it all was worth it
    Only time it will tell

    In the morning they return
    With tears in their eyes
The stench of death drifts up to the skies
A soldier so ill looks at the sky pilot
    Remembers the words
    "Thou shalt not kill."
    Sky pilot,
    Sky pilot,
    How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never reach the sky.
