Trump skips WW I cemetery visit due to wet weather, kicking up a storm of its own

Donald Trump is in France and his first scheduled event was to visit an American cemetery containing the graves of Americans killed in action during World War I. Unfortunately there was a bit of rain and Trump canceled his visit preferring to stay in the hotel alone tweeting. Other world leaders, however, all made it to the various ceremonies honoring the dead soldiers despite the rain.

Trump's cancellation invited criticism from key military folks. Read some of their tweets in the link above.

I think he was just too lazy.

Anyone else remember the time Fox "News" spent days covering Latte-Gate? Can you imagine how Republicans would be responding if President Hillary Clinton did the same thing today?

Yes...Obama holding a coffee cup in his right hand while saluting the Marine guard did cause a major storm amongst right wingers. Obama was under the microscope and every little incident was elevated to high prominence in Fox News. However, I doubt that anyone on the right will stir about Trump skipping the graveside ceremony honoring dead marines.

Obama was extending a courtesy and recognition. There is no protocol for Obama to initiate or respond for a military salute.

Photo caption: you guys are on your own!'

He didn't want to get his hair wet at the solemn occasion, grieving is for widows and orphans.

And as with any function or occasion, he lacks the proper etiquette that is required, his moral compass is broken.

I hope Europe has now clearly seen what an total asshole Trump is; Yes his "hair" is more important than showing respect related to all these dead soldiers. Don't forget that WWI was especially terrible in France with poison gas and a stand off for years in the dug-outs. I have still an wood and copper tipped 1915 propeller used in WWI which came from an DH2 pusher plane. I guess people here should know by now that Trump has no respect for any living or dead thing; even Hitler had a dog he loved.

President Macron also isn't afraid of a little rain:

Exactly right. President Obama was and is a dignified man. Pres. Trump is a conman reality TV host. A light rain didn't stop the other leaders from an important recognition.

Imagine that too long hair being all wet and in his face as his make up runs in the rain. EWWWW.

Robin Wright, The New Yorker: Trump Completes a Shameful Trip to Paris, Just as He Needs the Global Stage

I thought Wright's article in the New Yorker pretty much summed up the Trump visit to Paris. These kind of foreign fiascos are becoming the norm. Quoting Wright:

"Trump’s relations with his foreign counterparts are crumbling. The U.S. schism with Europe—where millions of Americans died to preserve allies—has arguably not been this deep since the First World War ended. The gap is wide on existential issues (climate change), global threats (Russia), and war and peace (the Iran nuclear deal). Since Trump took office, Europe has launched discussions on creating military and financial institutions that skirt the United States."

Oh how the world leaders (except Putin) would love to have Obama back...

Now that Trump is back home, he is back to doing what he does best, which is criticizing our friends and allies. In this morning's tweet, he took aim at Macron's approval rating, his country’s employment rate, its trade policies on wine and his vision for the military.

He launched a tweet, that France should import more US wine. Wow, I think the French have plenty of wine of themselves and more selection of it; they don't need US made wine! Trump lives in la la land!! What a laugh!

It was a lot of work to send out all those Tweets. That's why he had to rest at the White House today rather than lead any Veterans Day ceremonies. After all he already did that of sorts in Paris...didn't he?

Obama is beloved world wide, far more popular outside the US than inside.

Many are smart enough to know they just need to wait Trump out unless he does something extremely stupid. Trump is threaten by strong world leaders who know that the US emperor has no clothes. A straw man and a coward.

I'm afraid that the G20 also will be an total disaster; China is pissed off, Europe is pissed off, Russia is pissed off etc.

But, Kim ( N.Korea) , Erdogan, and some other "dictators" may still like him.

So what will trauma Trump do, "sob" in his room and watch Fox News? The USA has an fantastic system to select and "vet" its leaders, right?
