Very important to understand charisma and how dangerous it can be in the wrong person.

Chet, "charisma" does not matter; if the whole country goes down the drain, who cares if he had "charisma".

Dutch, After three years you still don't understand what charisma is. It is not socially charming and likeable and physically attractive features. It is an unexplained compelling attraction that people have for the charismatic person. That is why Trump can insult and lie and mock and humiliate people and not lose support. Add to the core support that he has the non supporters that he bought with his tax cut and it presents a dangerous picture.

    Dictionary definition:

    cha·ris·ma

    /kəˈrizmə/

    noun

    1.

compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others.

    2.

a divinely conferred power or talent.

    From Psychology Today:

Charisma is the ability to attract, charm, and influence the people around you. Charisma is often said to be a mysterious ineffable quality—you either have it or don't have it

Chet, why do you care about a "word" while the whole country goes down the drain. So once you are in the "poor" house, then you've got other worries than just a "word"

Dutch it is not the f****ng word that is the issue. It is the phenomena Dictator maker that the unexplained phenomenon of charisma creates. Do you still not understand that Trump has so much unwavering support because of that unexplained attraction that people have for him. J brought that up in May of 2015 and warned that it could get him elected. I also warned that you can't destroy a charismatic by attacking. Attacking only builds and strengthens support for a charismatic. Scaramucci's article described charisma in detail without ever mentioning it. I have been trying to explain to you for three years now that you can't destroy a charismatic by attacking. Scaramucci said the same thing.

Want to make a dictator then keep attacking Trump.

My guess it is much more than "words"; it is "deeds" which will bring this country into an dictatorship. Words evaporate into the air; "deeds" have an real impact; such as getting rid of all international agreements. He only loves "dictators and "money". Due to the fact he's got "charisma" will you vote for him?

Your last line does not make sense? Thus no one should attack him or tell him the truth, not even Mueller? Sorry our animal instincts make it so that we follow the "leader"even if it kills us, people with brains did not follow Hitler either but he tried to eradicate them; Trump is playing the same game with his fake "charisma".

Dutch, Did you understand Scaramucci's commentary? Did you agree with Scaramucci's commentary? You as well as a lot of other people cannot grasp the concept of charisma. That is why and how Trump got elected. That is why he can say and do horrible things without recourse. Charisma is what enabled . Hitler to build the third reicht.

    You can't attack a charismatic

you have to out perform a charismatic to conquer a charismatic .

    Donald Trump and Authoritarian Followers

Donald Trump has about as much charisma as Denethor, the Steward of Gondor in the movie Lord of the Rings.

I don't know where people get this charisma shit from, during trump's campaign, I thought he was repulsive. Maybe the people who love and follow this asshole think he's got something nobody else has, like the idiots who watched his apprentice shows, I never got anything out of it, and I never liked the you're fired bullshit either. To say this man has charisma must mean they're maligned, there's something wrong with them, IMO.

I have found semi precious stones and geodes in the desert which had more charisma than people who love trump or trump himself.

Dockadams. I agree with you. Trump is a repulsive asshole. Here's some more...

    10 Charismatic Leadership Characteristics

Take a look at these. Trump flunks all 10. Trump is an authoritarian bully. His support is not from charisma but rather from telling people what they want to hear.

As Robert Altemeyer discusses in his article, there is about 25 percent of the population, driven largely by fear, that is always ready to vote for a dictator. In addition there are others who support him mostly out of ignorance.

The evangelicals, for example, support him 90 percent because they believe he is the "beast" who will bring about the second coming of Christ. That and of course his insincere and politically motivated stance against gay marriage and abortion.

The white nationalists support him because of his racist overtones. They look at him and think, "He's one of us!" His going to build a wall and make the Mexicans pay for it. They love to attend Trump rallies and show their hate.

Others at Trump rallies are the gun rights people. The gun rights people support him because they think any liberal is "going to take their guns away".

The military supports him because of his promise to make the military "so strong and so great".

And many Republicans support him out of tribal loyalty and fear.

Just look at the way he conducted himself in yesterday's meeting with Schumer and Pelosi. I saw him throw a childlike tantrum when he realized that Pelosi and Schumer had the best him...humiliated him. That is not charisma.

When Trump is with foreign leaders I often see him hunched over in his chair looking down with his hands between his legs. It is a sign of lack of confidence. I never ever saw that pose with President Obama who would be able to hold his head up high and look other foreign leaders in the eye with a smile.

Trump's support comes not from charisma but rather from being an authoritarian bully and a con artist. Those are two different things.

Schmidt, I was right in 2015 when I told you Hillary would lose. When Trump announced "Lots of Good Paying jobs" and "Make America Great Again" I said he would win using what should have been the Democratic Slogans. When he said and did things that would have instantly ended any other politicians carret. I said that was his charisma making his followers overlook his faults and I said attacking him would not work. I said all of this in the beginning before anybody else had a clue. Here is my view of essence of the problem. I look at life from different points of view. I am a left progressive demand side thinking person. You are a right conservative supply side person. I think that people should be provided opportunity through government creating a prosperous economy supplying good paying jobs. You think opportunity already exists and it is up to people to work hard and create their own success. You think people need to have additional skin in the game for motivation. I think people are motivated of their own personal and family interest. There is nothing that is going to change between us. So I think that instead of falling back on reverance to a thread topic to end a discussion I think discussions should continue because there is more to gain from exposure than censure. That is my left progressive view of discussions.

Schmidt, History has designated Hitler, Stalin, and no worse than Idi Amin were called charismatic. You should apprise yourself of the dangers of charisma and what charisma really is. You confuse it with visible personal attributes. It is an unexplained compelling attraction that people have for a person. Of course Trump is authoritarian but his charisma has kept him from being kicked to the curb. Attacking him can prove disastrous. He has to be worked around. There is nothing you can say to children to make them hate their mother. Charisma creates that devotion for supporters for Trump. Just be thankful Trump's charisma has limited appeal.

    charisma

    noun

    cha·ris·ma | \kə-ˈriz-mə \

    Definition of charisma

1: a personal magic of leadership arousing special popular loyalty or enthusiasm for a public figure (such as a political leader)His success was largely due to his charisma.

2: a special magnetic charm or appeal

"::Idi Amin was the dictator of Uganda. He also became known as the “Butcher of Uganda” for his inhuman, repressive rule during his Ugandan regime in the 1970s. He was a colorful and charismatic dictator who ranks among the most infamous of all Africa's postindependence rulers.::""

Dockadams, You don't understand or know the definition of charisma. Hitler, Mussolini, and Idi Amin are all called charismatic by history.

    Look up the definition.

Very scary and troubling to say the least. You know you touched upon all those rallies, and I had a thought that when we lived in the old days, the FBI would go to rallies, political and others, to snap photos of people in the crowd. There's a pro publica journalist that did that and went further to identify those who caused the riot in Charlottesville. I'm kind of hoping that these kinds are people attending trump's rallies are photographing and identifying those troublemakers so that if anything bad which occurs in the future can be brought to justice.

I believe Nancy did a splendid job of putting trump in his place yesterday, very elegant. Afterward, she went out of her way to basically call him a manchild, splendid!

Trump is everything which you state, a bully and a con man-artist.

Did you know that quartz has mystical powers and charisma to some people who worship semi and other precious metals and stones? Some people would even kill for them. There's some people who would kill for trump, people like James Alex Fields, among others.

If you never read all of what I say please read this!!!

Here is what you guys and the rest of the intellectual world are missing. Authoritarian is and of itself is not an endearing infectual quality. I know many authoritarians responsible for broken homes. An authoritarian that is mean, offensive, conceited, misogynistic, habitual liar ad infinitum is not a likely to become president of the United States. What happened in the case of our President is charisma was responsible for blinding enough people to elect him President.

Tell me which of the Ten Charismatic Leadership Qualities fits Trump. Not a fuckin' one. None. Nada. Zero. He's a repulsive asshole.
