Kavanaugh refuses to recuse himself now from hearing a Trump defendant case. Wouldn't Kavanaugh be automatically recused from a Trump defendant case because Trump reccomended him. I think Trump picked Kavanaugh to stack the court and it can't happen.

If Kavanaugh were smart and ethical judge, he would recuse himself. But I think he is far more ambitious than ethical. He does not want sit on the sidelines during historical cases. If trump were to pardon himself, Kavanaugh would want to rule on it.

I don't like Kavanaugh and I hope something happens the causes his nomination to fail. However, I think it is doubtful that he and the rest of judges would allow trump pardon himself. The SC has not been waiting decades for someone like trump to become president just so they too can go down in history as being total morons that rule: "The president can commit all the crimes he wants and then pardon himself. Under the US Constitution, the president is above the law."

Realistically, trump would just make a private deal in advance with Pence before leaving office ensuring that Pence pardon's trump thus it would go unchallenged.

My prediction remains: Before Feb 2019, trump will suddenly pardon 100s of people including the entire WH staff, his family, many of his business partners who he knows have committed undiscovered crimes, his own business and other businesses, He may also include pardon's for Russia and Putin. THEN, he will resign that same day....

The SC will then be forced to rule if all his pardon are valid. Imagine the legal chaos if he did pardon Putin and Russia.

Supreme Court Justices answer to Congress, but I wouldn't hold your breath. The House impeached Samuel Chase in 1805, but he was acquitted of all charges in the Senate. No other Justice has been impeached since.

I'd be shocked if he recused himself from any case involving Donald and nothing will happen to him if he doesn't.

He is unethical and a lying sack o’shit to put it bluntly. Trump didn’t know who he was until his name was handed to him. Kavanaugh will cover Trump’s ass and will also be the vote to overturn Roe v. Wade as well as gay marriage. We need another religionist like we need a kick in the balls.

As usual, regardless of that the guy did not answer anything at all (being coached by Trump's cronies), neither that all documents were disclosed, as well that his history is tainted with ultra right opinions during the Clinton time, I expect that the pieces of filth in the GOP will approve him. Yes this is an typical "banana republic: deceit and lies", run the show. And no one wakes up; the "mid-term" elections are too late to turn the tide of this horrible stupid appointment. Where are the brains in this country? What you sow, that is what you reap. Try to remove this guy; virtually impossible "for life". What an total stupid country.

It might begin to end. Perez addressed real issues this morning. Maybe there is an awakening to recognize the issues that elected Trump. If Hillary had given the speech Perez gave this morning she would be president today.

    Read and heed:

"People are enthusiastic because we're fighting for the issues they care about," said Perez, pointing to health care and wages as the top issues for voters. "This is the most important election of our lifetime."

Back to Hillary bashing again I see. Didn't someone blame Obama for Hillary's loss on this forum? I know some independents and progressives think Sanders is their messiah. Now they're courting Perez? Talk about oxymoronic. I hope the Bernie busters stay home and don't vote, their "loyalty to the democratic party" is all over the map, keep supporting plans that won't work.

In other threads, I wrote to raise the minimum wage and HC as a platform, and was told something about "good paying jobs" should be the message, now Perez talks about wages, and all of a sudden progressives/independents are for it. "Ich verstehe dich nicht". You people are confusing, to say the least.

What is your problem? Hillary bashing???? Just because she totally missed what was hurting the middle class and because of that the worst candidate in the history of the world got elected and you call pointing that out bashing Hillary. And now that the DNC finally identified the problem that is a mystery. I suppose there are those people that do okay and would hate to see this less fortunate get a break but if Perez is serious that is going to change. It may upset the conservatives but things are going to get better for the working poor.

If the DNC didn't recognize their constituents, then all those past campaigns was just rhetoric aimed at getting votes, and money to keep campaigning, and that's not entirely true, good things have happened under democrat leadership and presidents, which at the present time are being rolled back by this administration.

The new SCOTUS appointee will side with the present administration, and overlook this president's short comings, but a new democratic congress will put a stop to this crookedness.

Dutch, Perez can't walk back Sunday. Watch at the rush of new Presidential candidates willing to campaign for working people values. ***
