    WOW..... Imagine during Watergate if Deep Throat did an OP Ed. In this case, much closer to trump. Anonymous, along with others WH insiders that are part of "The Republican Resistance"

    Mr\Ms Anonymous is saying that trump is not only unqualified to be president, trump is mentally and emotionally dangerous; a pathological liar and sociopath. trump is prone to wanting to take extreme action things on impulse; a bit like the abusive husband that beats the shit out of his wife because he is so pissed off that she disagrees with him. Trump is surrounded by people who intervene every single day, preventing trump from doing things that can not be reversed and literally could cause world wide destruction if trump were allowed to act on impulses and\or stupidly.

    My comments: The impression I got is that the "The Republican Resistance" in the the WH have witnessed first hand 100s of incidents where trump has wanted to do things that are either illegal or unethical. And there have been specific orders from trump such as "I want XXX assassinated" that have been intentionally not acted on WH officials.

    The white house manager (Kelley) will probably do a witch hunt, we should be prepared to see some heads roll, which will be nothing new. This is another distraction from the Russia investigation, Trump probably had one of his minions put this out there to steer attention away from the Russia probe.

    Some of the criticism is that Anonymous maybe interviewed and he\she proceeds to condemn\deny\etc the OP Ed. An extreme example would be John Kelly.

    My speculation is that the NY Times has more factual information that backups up the OP Ed. One possibility is that the OP Ed is written by one person, but the NY Times has spoken to others within the WH to confirm what is written be factually actuate.

    I won't be surprised if that this is just the lead bombshell that the NY times has, and there is much more to come.

    I hope people did read my memo's from the past; looking at all of this, it shows that the "system" here is broken for a long time, since the "laws' and "rules' never caught up with the times. "1800's" laws don't work in this day and age. For electing Presidents, there should be strict laws as well an "rule" book in the White House which clearly indicates the "limits" of Presidents, as well provides the guidelines of punishment if the "rules" are broken. Also the "vetting" should be done as Mueller is now doing "afterwards". If these changes as well other changes like: let "votes" count; eliminate the "electoral college" and get the "money" out of elections; time limits for Supreme Court members as well "electing" people with checked "qualifications", then hopefully things will get a bit "normal" again. But I've got little hope that will happen; they rather put the "horse" behind the cart. However what is needed here is an total revamp of the present government "system" It does not work now, let alone in the future.

    The New York Times also published the list of people who are DENYING writing the letter:

    Between Woodward's book and this morning's op-ed, Trump is almost certainly going to go from being completely wacky all the way to in dire need of a straitjacket and handcuffs. When that happens, the only possible remedy would be for the majority of his cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment and remove him from office IMMEDIATELY. That would make Pence (the most likely author of the op-ed) the president, which would only be a slight improvement, but would at least do a lot to prevent WWIII from breaking out.

    The existence of the Woodward book and this morning's op-ed should be extremely damaging for the Republican Party during the mid-term elections, and Brett Kavanagh's confirmation process should also make a lot more people aware of the fact that the Republic Party is completely f****d up.

    And now, polygraph tests for administration appointees to determine who is lying about who leaked. A witch hunt by Trump. He want's to find out who isn't loyal to him. What's next? A firing squad on the south lawn for those disloyal people?

    Unlikely Pence is the anonymous author behind the OP-ed, but he may have known about it in advance and knows who wrote it. Pence is more the type to be praising and encouraging trump's bad behavior because worse trump becomes, the sooner Pence become President. Basically Pence is encouraging trump to run as fast as he can off the 10,000ft cliff to his poltical death.

    Trump: "Do you think it would be helpful if I called Obama a N*gger at my next rally?"

    Pence: "That is a wonderful idea, Mr President, maybe even say it several times."

    NOW.... trump is demanding that DOJ investigate the WH

    So, let's think about this for a moment; since being elected trump has been demanding the DOJ investigate the following:

    * Hillary Clinton
    * The democrat party
    * President Obama and his administration
    * Jame Comey
    * The entire FBI
    * Mueller and his Team
    * His former Lawyers
    * Many former and current CIA & FBI agents
    * More...

    And now is he wants the DOJ to investigate crimes that may, or may not, have occurred by senior people he personally appointed or hired.

    When am I going to wake up from this absurd nightmare. I do not belong in this alternate reality universe.

    In my opinion either the style of writing in the op/ed was toned down to sound almost remedial to hide the identity of the author or it was written by a very low level person. It is devoid of all jargon that accompanies a particular job or skill.

    Can't imagine asking a 4 star general to take a "lie ( liar) detector" test.

    My best guess is that McCain has done this; this makes a lot of sense; he did sent it to the N.Y. Times with the message not to publish it until he was buried. Trump can't do anything at all; furthermore an likely revenge for the "sneaking in" of Jared and Ivanka at the ceremony; he must have anticipated that Trump would do something to upset his funeral proceedings.

    All of this makes sense; I think the rest in the W.H. are too chicken to do something like that anyway

    I can go along that a connected outsider wrote it based on privledeged information.
