Watched some of Woodward interviews today. So why is the book called FEAR?
Imagine you are a passenger on a 747 and the plane is on auto pilot at 50,000 ft. It becomes known that pilot has no flying experience on any type of plane, he lied and cheated to get his pilot's licence. He is so arrogant that he truly believes he can fly the 747 and at any moment he might take control the plane and turn off the auto pilot. The moment he does, there is 100% chance that plane will start to spin out of control and everyone will die.
The only person on the plane with a parachute is the fake pilot.
"FEAR" represents many different things in the context of the book.
FEAR by WH staffers that trump will panic out of his own FEAR that the truth will be exposed about himself, and because of that he will do something so extreme, nothing can be done to reverse what he sets into motion. US generals may be able to stop trump from launching a preemptive a nuclear attack, but the US can not prevent other countries from launching nuclear warheads if trump suddenly tweets at 4am he is declaring war on other countries and says he has ordered the launching US warheads immediately.
Woodward is saying if trump panics, there is high he probability he will go not only too far, but EXTREMELY too far.
