    Let me translate.

Trump: "Hey Fox news, why don't you create a search engine the filters out news that I don't like, and put news I like at the top. Make it look like Google, but call it something else."

That sounds exactly what a trump supporter would say, or trump himself.

Everything that Trump says or does has a self promotion or perhaps more accurately a self preservation motive. To accomplish his goals he has to continually create new areas of division within the populace. He has undermined the media and the justice department and now he needs to undermine Google, Facebook, etc as all purveyors of fake news so that his base will not believe anything they read on the internet that is not flattering to him.

In a sense he wants what Kim Jung Un has -- total control over all facets of the media and public discourse. He is mentally sick and getting more desperate every day, but his Republican enablers are even more despicable for indulging him.

And trump will never get that level of control. However, like a screaming 3yr old child that is out of control at birthday party, he may get just enough to calm him down (temporarily). Pick any issue, such as Mueller Investigation. Trump wants a Saturday night massacre. Trump is screaming via tweet storms that Sessons, Rosinstien, and the entire Mueller team be fired on a single day, then have Meuller arrested\invested for treason. We know that scenario will never be allowed to happen, but to appease trump and get him to declare victory, a worn down congress might settle for half of that. Its no different than when a screaming 3yr old demands the he gets everything, but stops screaming and shitting on floor when he gets half of what he wants. Everyone is so relieved that the the non-stop screaming and shitting has come to an end. Meanwhile the 3yr old remained in control of the situation the entire time. After a few minutes of calm, the screaming and shitting starts all over again, and the cycle continues because he wants the other half he did not get.

... And so it is Trump; he is always fixated on what he wants and does not have. He won't settle of 80% power, or even 95% power. He will always be obsessed getting whatever he does not have, no matter how small or trivial. Anything less than 100% becomes an obsession\frustration.

    Being There: agonybooth.com/movies-that-predicted-tr...

A movie that foreshadowed the politics of current politics. The movie is not about an evil mastermind or a Manchurian Candidate. Its partly about accepting stupidity as being a genius.

Not really. Almost half of the electorate voted for Trump. Trump has been bleating lies about “fake news” and his base believes him. From which we can derive that his base wants Pravda or Izvestia. We also note that people “get news” from social media which is utter nonsense. And then we top it off with Facebook, the creation of the asshat Zuckerberg, allowing conservative rag, The Weekly Standard, to be part of its fact checking and then not checking up on it when it claims something posted by Ian Millhiser was fake news which it was not.

This country has gone full blown tribal. The new motto should be Unum de multis: Out of one, many.

Over three years ago I pointed out the danger of Trump. He like other dictators, Hiter, Mussolini. Stalin, is charismatic. His followers are compelled for no explainable reason to like him. They blindly support him. They both accept and deny his lies. It gets worse every day. Trump just said responding to Hurricane Florence, like Puerto Rico, probably the best job ever done.
