"Europe" is a conglomeration of over forty countries that have vastly different politics.
I regret to say I have yet to travel to Europe since Donald's inauguration (heading there next spring though!), but I have to disagree that "[n]ormally there is not that much news in Europe about the US." I traveled throughout a number of European countries in 2016 and the people I interacted with knew more about the comings and goings of US politics than the vast majority of US citizens. How would all these strangers I chatted with know what's going on if "there is not that much news in Europe about the US"?
Jared, The news over there is as it is here; more "local" news than "international" . On this "island" it is everyday a repeat of "Trump" or the "shit" he creates. In Europe the "news" is "news" and not repeated over and over again all day with "pill" adds. However the "news" here works like an indoctrination platform; while that is not the case over there.
Of course since most of the "shit news" comes from here because of the Trump's craziness here, it makes interesting reading if there is not much "local" news. In general the air waves over there are less intrusive like here. But yeah since the "cellphones" you have more choices of what news you want to see. During the Obama time there was of course much less news which came from over the "pond". Thus as a matter of fact, Trump drives the whole world crazy.
I like to add that here on this island there is very little news from overseas; except some on the BBC channel or PBS. Especially lately I see way too much of Trump's ugly face.
