Yes lots of companies (CNBC) are buying back their outstanding stocks for billions and raise the dividends as expected. None of that will end up at the working man. Exactly as I expected. Congratulations dumb America!

This was predicted by many economists at the time. The companies buy back their own stock because their investment alternatives are poorer choices. It doesn't matter how much money you give back to corporations, it doesn't change the portfolio of investment choices.

Similarly, Harley Davidson might have been given more money, but if they cannot make a reasonable profit on it exporting motorcycles from America, then they do what every business does wanting to stay in business. Invest overseas to not only get around the tariffs but build motorcycles with cheaper labor.

Buying back stock or moving manufacturing overseas are f**kin business decisions. Trump should understand that. Businesses are not like charities. They only answer to shareholders.

Every tax cut was followed by a recession. First of all tax cuts are unemployment . Loss of spending by the unemployed is recessionary . 2nd the tax cut recipients for the most part don't spend the extra money. That is recessionary. For tax money to help the economy it has to go into the economy. Wonder why the rich democrats didn't come out against the tax cut ???

Chet, another great issue to write about. Trump said now he wants to reduce the wages in this country, as argument that we then become more competitive. During the tax cut he kept saying: This will help boost wages and jobs. (What an hypocrite liar)

Thus Chet what do you believe of this con-man?

Dutch, One of the first public statements Trump made as a candidate was about the minimum wage. He said he would not raise the minimum wage because he wanted to keep American wages low and competitive with foreign labor. Two weeks later he dropped that in favor of "lots of good paying jobs". I pointed that out right after he said it accusing him of lying. I said his campaign was based on a lie, "lots of good paying jobs". His true colors are keeping the American poor and making them poker. When I pointed out that he was dangerous and a formidable candidate you attacked me saying he was a formidable candidate. Should have listened then Dutch and we wouldn't be having this conversation now. You were just as wrong as everybody else. Curious as what clouded so many people's judgement about Trump back then. I called him a bold faced liar at the beginning of the campaign when he lied and changed his opinion about keeping wages low. Are you just now discovering his lies. 3rd week of his campaign he lied about the minimum wage.

Chet, I guess you are mistaken; I've never said that he was an formidable candidate; show me where I said that; you were the only who said he had charisma; not me.

Republican sponsored tax cuts mean one thing, corporations can horde more cash for themselves, tax cuts do not necessarily bring job growth or spreading of wealth.

Dutch, You never said that. I did. I said back at the very beginning of his campaign that he was a bold faced liar when he promised lots of good paying jobs. I said he was dangerous and was a very formidable charismatic candidate that very well could win the election. He was using what should have been the Democratic slogan , "Lots of good paying jobs".
