The only option left is fleeing the capital (and the Seargent in Arms) to prevent a quorum.

All DT needs to do is nominate a conservative WOMAN judge and he is 98% guaranteed he got all the Senate votes he needs without a debate. He probably even get a majority of democrats as well.

He wins with nearly all groups.

But we know he is selfish MF'er that won't settle for any nominee which does not maximize his personal gain. He wants a SCJ that will take his calls 24x7 and willing to discuss active SC cases with DT. Someone corruptible or already corrupt. And we know DT can identify such a person within just a few seconds. DT can smell\see\hear corruption like a bloodhound.

He will pick a judge far less qualified and ethical than Neil Gorsuch. I am predicting someone extremely controversial, someone that Republicans would reject outright under any other circumstances.

The "post" above shows how Trump is paying down his debt at Deutche Bank; yes he's the biggest con-man there is. Judge Kennedy's son who has a high position at Deutsche Bank certainly played a role in this "game" WE ALL ARE BEING CONNED!

It's far simpler than that, Dutch. Republican leaning Supreme Court justices retire when a Republican is in power; Democratic leaning Supreme Court justices retire when a Democrat is in power. That's the world we live in.

I know our form of governance pisses you off, but you being pissed off isn't going to change our form of governance.

Elections have consequences and the consequences of the 2010, 2014, and 2016 elections will give us a far right majority on the Supreme Court for decades to come.

Thanks, Bernie or busters. You really showed us!

Let's be honest; this whole supreme court thing is total farce; if it would work properly than these people should ALL be impartial and have no party alliance whatsoever. They should be super neutral. Thus not. Why have a government which is totally partisan with two parties and nothing in the middle? Sure that leads to "dictatorship, as is now the case. Thus Jared as I've said a million times it is an self inflicted wound by not updating the Constitution with the times and introducing proper laws (not just "rules" or "executive orders") as well not having any control or REAL oversight over a con-man as President.

Dutch, if our system truly is as bad as you believe, then ultimately it will fail and the US government will collapse under its own weight or the US population will start to dwindle as people migrate to other countries that continued to grow and progress in a healthy direction.

Personally, I believe trump is a one-off; he is pop culture; a one-hit-wonder, a person that rises quickly, but also will disappears from relevance just as fast as he came. He is a very shallow person that can't read\write more than 132 characters. However, if you're perception of the future is better than mine, and DT is a leader of a historic revolution that dominates the US for the next 1000 years, immigration won't be a problem very long. Immigrants will find better progressive countries, and US citizens will also start leaving the US as well. Nobody immigrates to a repressive nation\culture. Trump's wall could very well be used to keep people from immigrating out because more and more progressive minded people will not want to live here, and immigrant in other countries will not want to come here because it will be far worse from country they left.

All I say, just look at history; the US is in decline; it was on its top in the 70's, 80's, but as history shows, Napoleon, Hitler, Stalin none of that survived. Neither does the US, if it does not change/adapt its laws to modern times; everything here is "case" law but seldom the "base law" is adapted, because otherwise the lawyers here would be out of work. In 300 years the Constitution had only about 200 "adaptions/amendments; which is far below as they do in other civilizations, like Europe ( Parlementary system in which the Prime Minister barely has any power and the "base" law is an "living" document which is continously adapted to the times. (forget England) The downfall of the US is imminent, because the laws are so convoluted; for example, look at the gun laws; in the "second amendment" it says nowhere that "civilians" can own guns, let alone AR 15's. The rest of the Constitution does not account for the many industrial or data development as well financial services; everything is interpreted or case law. At certain moment you get stuck in this mess as is proven today with ridiculous things like Trump can "pardon" himself. Furthermore there is nothing clear related to the limits of a President, let alone foreign money laundering etc. because there is only a "clause" or a "rule" but never an black and white law, which does not need interpretation. All of the laws here are half "baked" because of the lawyers. Just because of this , then you get the "mob" into the White House. I bet even Mueller will not get him out, because the Congress is in "bed" with Trump ( loyalty driven). All of these things I mention will mean that this country is in decline . Furthermore the influence of the rich will only make things even worse; they will make sure that they can escape to their private islands etc with their loot. Yes it is as bad as I described, so when the bottom falls out like in 1929, then may be you remember what I wrote.

Trump behaves like he's Hitler or Stalin and even said himself that he will go in history as the greatest President ever. That says enough. L'histoire ce repette.

While we can cite multiple factors on the reasons for Trump's very existence as president and his seeming resilience in holding onto his loyal base, one factor sticks out more than others -- the absolute loyal support of his Christian evangelical base. A saw this article in MSN/Orlando Sentinel about how private schools in Florida that rely on taxpayers funding are teaching their students that "dinosaurs and humans lived together, that God's intervention prevented Catholics from dominating North America and that slaves who "knew Christ" were better off than free men who did not".

Their books "denounce evolution as untrue, for example, and one shows a cartoon of men and dinosaurs together, telling students the biblical Noah likely brought baby dinosaurs onto his ark."

That's not all. They disparage other religions and cultures other than white European. They defend their curriculum as "academically rigorous" and based on "traditional Christian philosophy of education".

I suppose as a private school they can indoctrinate the students with any falsehoods they choose, but they depend on public funding to survive. Because they have Trump as president, and they have some kind of "critical mass" in voting, they can push the limits.

Without the avid support of Trump's evangelical base, he would not be president.

(for me The Orlando Sentinel link is broken in the above post)

Think about it for a moment, it is no accident that DT picked Rallies as his main method of campaigning. Religious Revivals are at the heart of evangelical cults since the beginning. Especially the so-called evangelical healers that continue to make millions with their road shows. For evangelicals, DT is just another healer who they believe can do amazing things for them (not others), things no other politician can do.

There have been studies on effects of highly emotional mass events (rallies, revivals, etc), where people become intoxicated by chemicals (ie endorphins) produced in their brain from all the excitement. The person leading the event becomes larger than life; an untouchable messenger from god... The audience is basically drunk\high.

During the miracle healer shows, evangelicals become convinced that the healer can do the impossible, but of course none of it is real, its just a fantasy they want to believe, not reality. Nobody is ever really healed, but everybody goes home thinking they witnessed the power of God working through the person on the stage conning them into believing they witnessed the impossible.

First of all , Jared, stop blaming us for not voting for Hillary fucking Clinton. She was a shitty candidate. The people did not want her. We rejected her tennyears ago because she sucks. The establishment is totally deaf to the people. The corporations own this country. We are a fascist police state. Either way, we are fucked.

    So just stop it.

The criminals occupying our government will eventually be brought to justice. There can be no other way. Without the rule of law , there is no country, no government. No corporate playground ,no market no money no peace.

So sit the fuck back and relax. Assholes are in full blown down there and they are playing with fire.

Bad things are about to happen . Like they always do.

Main you said it right "without the rule of law"; that is exactly the problem; the rule of law does not seem to apply to Presidents and their cronies, because a zillion lawyers interpret the convoluted existing laws in many ways to suit their objectives. Trying to make 1800 laws fit today's society is ridiculous; like actually with "words" stating an AR15 is the same as an flintlock gun. etc. Let alone force 3 year old's to face the judge. Indeed it is the total mess in our laws which are not adapted to the times; only "rules or "clauses" runs it which are not real laws. Trump tramples on all of it and no one stops him, because there are actually no laws for this President.

That is my broken record . The Democratic party abandoned people and went off on tangents. The Republicans focused on their constituency and bought every law they could to advance the cause of getting all the money . The total denial of the facing Democratic party is people running around blaming the mess on Bernie . The first great hope for the country in 50 years.

The problem we have is with our constitution, specifically an article of the constitution which basically installs a (Supreme Court) and allows presidents, any president at time of serving as our president to (APPOINT) any justice who they see fit to appoint. Why would we want a judge or justice to lean right or left politically? Don't we all want to judge or a justice to be fair in his or her rulings, and not scourge the rulings with politics being involved?

Big Problem. Dutch is correct in some of his posts/opinions, I have to agree with Dutch that we're operating a nation at the will of an outdated document. The constitution should be shredded and rewritten or amended to reflect present times. In fact, IMO, Supreme should be dropped from this court, and renamed the (High) court. IMO, nothing is SUPREME except a pizza. The people on the supreme court puts their pants and skirts on the same way the rest of us do. They're no better-or worse persons than we all are.

"The Supreme Court of the United States (sometimes colloquially referred to by the acronym SCOTUS)[2] is the highest federal court of the United States. Established pursuant to Article Three of the United States Constitution in 1789, it has ultimate (and largely discretionary) appellate jurisdiction over all federal courts and state court cases involving issues of federal law plus original jurisdiction over a small range of cases. In the legal system of the United States, the Supreme Court is generally the final interpreter of federal law including the United States Constitution, but it may act only within the context of a case in which it has jurisdiction. The Court may decide cases having political overtones but does not have power to decide nonjusticiable political questions, and its enforcement arm is in the executive rather than judicial branch of government."

    Article Three:

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_Three_of_...

"Article Three of the United States Constitution establishes the judicial branch of the federal government. The judicial branch comprises the Supreme Court of the United States and lower courts as created by Congress."

Dock, I'm happy you see it that way; An High Court as you name it should not be partisan and not be allowed to be partisan. If you look at the present situation then everything in this government can be "bought" with "loyalty" included. So automatically then you can become a dictator.
