Trump was getting a lot of flack from everyone, even many Republicans. Naturally, he blamed the media:

...." Therefore, based on both Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility, we will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the Host Site for the G-7 in 2020. We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately. Thank you! "

A Secret Service memo released on Friday revealed that Trump's Doral resort was added to the list of finalists for next year’s Group of Seven summit after the Secret Service had already narrowed down the search to four finalists. Miami wasn’t among the original 10 sites the Secret Service started looking at in late May. A Secret Service wrote on July 12 that “yesterday was the first time we put eyes on this [Doral] property.”

The email was released to the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which made a public-records request and then sued when government agencies did not comply.

The G7 conference was scheduled to take place this year at Camp David in June.

    It just got cancelled.

The gathering of world leaders at the Group of 7 summit will not happen in-person this year as scheduled for Camp David in June, and will instead be a video conference, the White House said on March 19.

A German government spokesman has confirmed that Chancellor Angela Merkel will not attend an in-person summit of world leaders that President Donald Trump has suggested he will host in the United States despite concerns over the coronavirus.

Trump last week indicated that he could hold the huge gathering after all, "primarily at the White House" but also potentially parts of it at Camp David, in Maryland state.

The G7 is made up of the US, Italy, Japan, Canada, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, as well as the European Union. Member states take turns organizing the annual gathering, with participants normally sending large delegations with their leaders to the summits and journalists from all the world convene to cover their meeting, as well.

It will be interesting to see if anybody else bails before the summit. Any further withdrawals would be a huge embarassment for Trump.

Looking at the present picture even if it is held, it will certainly not improve the status of how the rest of the world thinks about the US and its President. I guess as you said may be they say nothing and just don't show up.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that Trump has changed his mind - again.

A day after Anglela Merkel advised him that she would be unable to attend the G-7 summit in person, Trump said on Saturday that he will postpone until at least September the annual Group of Seven meeting of world leaders, which he had wanted to hold in-person by the end of June at the White House as the administration tries to project a return to normalcy amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump also said he plans to invite Russia, South Korea, Australia and India — all already part of the Group of 20, which was conceived as a larger and more inclusive gathering than the G-7, with its clubby reputation.

Since the other six members of the G-7 are opposed to Russia’s rejoining, it is not clear whether they would attend a meeting where Trump forced the issue. Trump said he has “roughly” broached the idea with leaders of Russia, South Korea, Australia and India.

Trump spoke with another G-7 leader, Emmanuel Macron of France, on Saturday, and the two presidents “discussed progress on convening the G7,” according to a statement from the White House.

Macron’s office later put out a statement saying that it is important for all G-7 leaders to attend the meeting while raising the possibility he might not go if Merkel was not there.

I don't know where the "brains" are; in the present situation, especially with the "virus" thing which may even get worse because an second wave is sure to come. Then it is likely that "economically" things may change again, let alone world politics. As was shown on the Dutch news, about all the details and the "mess" in this country right now, there is no longer respect for this country at all. As they say an "typical S.American dictatorial State" with an "dictator" in the W.H.

Looking on TV at all the "riot" happening over the weekend; it is the same as looking at an revolution in Columbia or Venezuela. The same "looting" and the same "cop" brutality and stupidity.

On Saturday Trump said the G7, which groups the world’s most advanced economies, was a “very outdated group of countries” in its current format.

When asked if he would attend the G7 if Russian President Vladimir Putin came, Trudeau did not answer, saying that there were still “many discussions” needed before the meeting.

But he did say the G20 group, which includes Russia, was a forum that included countries “we don’t necessarily have great relations with”.

I'm not an "betting" person, but I bet there will be no G7 for a long time. Thanks to the "demonstrations" and opening of the "economy" too fast, the virus will become "king" and will prevent such, as well the GOP Convention. Amen

The G7 is back on again, and will take place this coming Friday.

Like many events, this will be a virtual event.
