The total stupidity in this country is unbelievable; Trump pushes his ignorant agenda and people believe it.

    1) Drug cost program. Sorry it will not work, because the lobbyists will make sure of it as well the drug makers keep your TV full of expensive adds. The stock prices of the pharma companies went UP instead of down; that says enough.

    2) N. Korea. It is very clear why Kim wants to dismantle (read postpone) his nuke adventure. The reason is that an huge accident occurred at their development site, which was destroyed. Thus absolutely not due to Trumps bullying, so he should never get any credit nor the Nobel peace price.

    3) The Cohen pay for play story which is expanding; Mueller will need at least another year to dig up all this dirt.

    4) The Iran stupidity; the consequences are enormous ( I wrote in another thread about this)

    5) The Israeli US embassy will open in Jerusalem today; it will create lots of riots by the Palestinians and unrest in the middle east

    6) The appointment of an CIA director who condoned torture; the same tortures as Trump promoted in his speeches. I've no words for that.

    7) The National Debt; the "tax cuts" benefits are long gone for the lower classes; their gain is payed at the pump right now as well inflation is creeping up. Except for the rich who still benefit.

    8) The cost of all his rally's and trips and for his own ego (now close to $300 million), as well keeping Pruitt in place who copies him. This is the most costly President this country ever had.

Everything what Trump touches ends up in disaster

He is oxymoronic for sure. Concerned about prescription drug prices while taking money and cutting some ACA benefits. The repeal and replace quote. Definitely a hypocrite. Okay, a liar.

Related to item 5) above; both Kushner, Ivanka as well McNuchin (Jewish) are attending the ceremony; how sick can you get and that all on taxpayer cost. Due to Trumps actions, the Middle east has only become a more dangerous place. I think the "evangelicals" here who support all of this are huge hypocrites; they forgot that Jesus was killed in sink by those Jews who supported the Romans. If that would not have happened then they probably would be still praying to Wodan or another invented "god" type. Sick mentality in this country indeed; which is the cause of all this unwanted turmoil..

He is not as ignorant as his critics sometime believe. My perspective is that he does not give a shit about the things listed in the 1st post. If those things impacted him personally, then he would be interested in improving them, but only to his benefit. If by chance something he does benefit others, then its unintentional.

If he seems to care about something or someone, its not out empathy, it 100% out of personal gain.

From the PsychCentral website: Narcissistic Personality Disorder

    Symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder

In order for a person to be diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) they must meet five or more of the following symptoms:

    • Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
    • Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
    • Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
    • Requires excessive admiration
    • Has a very strong sense of entitlement, e.g., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
    • Is exploitative of others, e.g., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
    • Lacks empathy, e.g., is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
    • Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
    • Regularly shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

    =============================================

Those traits certainly apply to Trump. However, the subject of the thread is "Trump's ignorance of everything". Looking at Dutch's list, I can agree that Trump is ignorant of many of the points on the list. However, does it matter if his base -- the 35 percent or so -- is also ignorant of the same topics?

You have to give Trump credit for having a sense of what he repeatedly needs to say and do to appeal to his base, no matter how outrageously false. In that single aspect, Trump knows how to exploit and manipulate Americans. Or as George Lakoff says, "Trump is very, very smart. Trump for 50 years has learned how to use people's brains against them. That's what master salesmen do."

Trump is a master salesman, but I prefer "con artist" -- an opportunist who knows how to appeal to our emotions, our darker sides if you like, and turn Americans against themselves for his own gain. In that respect, the trait above -- "exploitive of others to achieve his own ends" -- applies to much of what Trump says and does. His worldview, as wwjd suggests, is driven by "what's in it for me". For Trump, it is always, ME, ME, ME.

And he knows how to use US to accomplish the ME -- to use our brains against us.

I've covered Trump's narcissism and Lakoff's assessment of Trump "being very smart" before in this website, so I am repeating myself here again. However, I haven't seen anything to change my mind. The only thing I will push back on Dutch, as usual, is that much of what he says applies to that 35 or 40 percent. No arguments there. But the rest of us, the 60 percent, are ready to move on from the Trump debacle.

Schmidt; .........applies to the 35 to 40 percent........ I guess you are forgetting that that same "dumb uneducated" bunch is now running the country. It is not all Trump, but also the people who he appointed which makes all the difference. Just look at what an Bolton. Kudlow, Jordan, McNuchin, Meadows, Pruitt, Miller, Kelly, Nunes, Mulvany, etc. are doing to ruin this country.

I just wonder where our "oversight" is related to Trump and his criminal gang. The latest info is that he made a deal with China to loan him $500 million in order so that he can built a resort in Indonesia. In return he will help China to resurrect their "tele" company, as well jobs for it. I thought he could not do that according to the "rules" which don't seem to apply to him.

If that is not "pay for play" and pure misuse of his function, then I don't know what the Congress is doing; keeping their eyes shut I presume. If Obama would have done so he would have been immediately impeached.

Yes, America you elected an awful corrupt "mobster" and no one has the guts to remove him! Even Mueller can't remove him. Since the Congress is "owned" by the "Trump party", unless the mid-term elections change things, there will not be any vote to get him out; even if Mueller proves he's guilty as hell .

I thought that there was an "emolument" clause, which should prevent the "asshole" from doing this. But yeah in this stupid country they make it a "clause" not a "law" with punishment if not complied with.

So billionaires wait a bit and then you can enjoy Trump's Indonesian resort, lots of hookers and gamalong music. Of course if you book early you get up to 40% rebate.

I suppose you may have seen these quotes on the Occupy Democrats Facebook page:

"Jews are not people, they are animals" -- Adolph Hitler

"Undocumented immigrants are not people, they are animals." -- Donald Trump

Trump is unhinged when it comes to undocumented immigrants and refugees entering our country. It's an obsession and he just cannot let it go. "Build the wall!" He is sick.

USA Today: Trump ramps up rhetoric on undocumented immigrants: 'These aren't people. These are animals.'

He is also busy trying to stop Obama from having an Presidential "library" in Chicago. The whole Iran "thing" was also because Obama was behind the deal. Yes he's an racist, as are most of his buddies. This is not for nothing called an " White Superior Evangelical" movement. Sorry but the only "animal" is Trump himself; he has no "manners" nor any "decency", let alone can eat with a fork and knife. Even can't dress himself; his tie hangs all the way on top of his little "thing". Also he knows nothing of culture nor what cultures are custom around the world. He just "elbows" his way to the foreground as he did in Europe. Yes he's an real "pig" like animal. But the "evangelicals" love him. I guess they all must have dogs/cats/pigs/chickens.

At his campaign rally, he said that Chicago should adopt stop and frisk laws to fight crime, Sessions is onboard with this idea too. Neither one know the constitution very well at all. Basically, both Trump and Sessions want to practice racial profiling. Since a hard line conservative was appointed to SCOTUS, watch for SCOTUS to reinforce the Terry vs Ohio argument.
