So when Trump overrides General Mattis, and the scientists and experts from France, Britain, Russia, China, and Germany in announcing his withdrawal from the Iran Nuclear Agreement, just remember how smart he says he is. He understands "uranium". Trust him.

Schmidt, I just wonder what Europe, China and Russia will do, especially related to trade. I think China nor Russia will change or stop their trade. The problem is the EU, will they listen to the US or bypass their trade to deliver their goods via an other country which can trade with Iran. Such was done when I dealt with Iran over there. The goods were on paper sold to Egypt and then delivered to Iran.

The only logical explanation for Trump’s decision to withdraw from the agreement on Iran is that he is being blackmailed by the Russian government – and it has to be something more significant than the “pee pee” tapes.

The other day, the Daily Kos published an article that outlines the REAL reason for the withdrawal - our withdrawal will help Russia tremendously. Although I could summarize if for you, it’s worthwhile to read the entire article:

    https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2018/5/9/1763198/-Donald-Trump-gave-a-huge-gift-to-Vladimir-Putin-and-may-have-saved-the-Russian-government?detail=emaildkre

In 1990, Russia had the world’s 2nd largest economy, right behind the United States. Today, Russia is not even in the top 10:

    https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/022415/worlds-top-10-economies.asp

As the article above points out, though, the lack of economic diversity in Russia’s economy will continue to hamper the country’s economy, even with the help of Putin’s orange-haired buddy.

Maybe. But now that Israel is taking on Iran, the USA has to have their back. All the weaponry Israel has came from the USA. Iron dome, fighter jets, and all the extras. Iran might choose to do business with Russia, in which case Israel vs Iran will be a proxy war? maybe.

Anyone see the news clip last night of Israel terrorism? Dropping teargas from drones? It's like open season on Palestinians.

In a major snub to Trump, Iran and the European Union just announced a new payment system that will allow Iran to avoid U.S. sanctions:

Excellent piece; the effect will be in the oil prices here; because Iran will only supply Europe not the US.

Listening to Thom Hartmann the other day I heard his guest from the National Iranian-American Council (iirc) say tha Europe is continuing to work with Iran on the deal. Supposedly the IAEC has been conducting inspections and Iran is passing the inspections. Trump, his base and the Republican Party are successfully isolating the US on the world stage. Since foreign relations include trade deals and other negotiations his speech at the UN where he says he is president of the US and not the world will underscore the weakened position he has helped create. Countries including allies will more and more ignore him to the detriment of the country.

Yes lonely you see it correctly; I guess Trump is forgetting that Iran is an well educated country and therefore can indeed built nukes. ( More "brains" there than in W. Virginia or Alabama) Also they control the traffic in the gulf if they want, which will have an enormous influence on the flow of oil. If the US would put sanctions on European countries, because of their trade with Iran; they can throw that for the International Court in Den Hague; since only the US stepped out of the "nuke" deal and Europe sticks to it. Trump is playing with fire and has no idea what Iran is all about.

A UN court just issued an order for the U.S. to lift at least some of the sanctions we had previously imposed> Although the order is binding, the court does not have a way to enforce them, so Trump and his band of pirates is unlikely to remove them. In fact, "agent orange" plans to impose additional sanctions on November 4.

I'm REALLY looking forward to the mid-terms, when we can all start to correct the madness in our country. Part of that would be somehow removing Mitch McConnell from office. As you are probably aware, Mitch McConnell threatened Obama and John Brennan in October 2016 about revealing information about Putin's meddling. In my mind, that's an act of treason.

Guy, I may sound negative, but the mid-terms may not work out as previously estimated; McConnell will likely stay there until he dies. Turtles have an "hard" shell.

The only way things can improve is getting rid of the "electoral college" which caused that the "dumb" states are running the show here, like Kentucky where McConnell comes from, as well others like Alabama, N. Dakota, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana etc.
