It is my understanding that planes landing on carriers jettison all but emergency fuel into the ocean.
It is also my understanding that the high performance jet aircraft require thousands of dollars of work for every hour they fly.
Dumping fuel makes sense but the thousands of dollars of work for every hour of flight seems like the planes weren't ready for delivery.
Dumping jet fuel is the least of my concerns when it comes to the Pentagon's gargantuan budget! That's a drop in the ocean in their nearly $700 billion dollar budget this year. All the while we are slashing social programs in order to help pay for this unneeded runaway spending.
It's nice to know where our nations priorities are...

Now read and comment on the 2nd paragraph where I infer either the government accepts planes that aren't finished or else inflated maintenance schedules costing millions are scamming the military .
