A comment that has been stated more than once over the past few days "The US policy draws the line at chemical attacks because its inhumane. But the policy, by the lack of action, suggests it is OK for civilians areas to be targeted with conventional weapons"

According to trump a week or so ago when he announced US troop withdrawal, ISIS was defeated, then, a bomber went into a place is Syria and set off a bomb killing four Americans. Trump never seems to know when to STFU, because it seems ISIS is NOT defeated.

    Hell just froze over.

Senior Republicans are warning him away from a national emergency declaration to build a border wall. The top Senate leader is directly rebuking his national security policy in Syria and Afghanistan

Since he is a slow learner, though, Trump is still suggesting that he's ready to move on without lawmaker's consent on his wall.

If fear mongering motivates your base of 35% (who vote nearly 100% of the time), you alienate the 65%. He doesn't mind wasting billions of dollars if he keeps "winning". He's wrong and history will be very unkind to him. By then he will have massively increased his net worth so he just doesn't care.

Wonder how that IRS audit is going ? Taxes are not just numbers, it's information. The commoners don't need or deserve information or the truth. The Con is active and it's profitable.

Gotta pay for those West Virginia votes so spend tax payer dollars pretending like you care about them.

Trump's decision to withdraw support for Kurdish fighters in Syria has been universally condemned as a stupid move, since it bolsters the actions of dictators in Syria, Turkey, and Russia, and will lead to the deaths of far too many people who have been relying on our assistance.

Retired general Mark Hertling had a few thoughts on Trump's latest attempt to distract from the impeachment hearings:

"Our allies think we’re idiots because we have stepped out … every time America steps out of anything in the Middle East, Russia steps in. Iran is also benefiting from this in a great way, because they will continue to man the counter-ISIS approaches.”

Although Lindsey Graham is a frequent supporter of Trump, even he agrees that Trump's decision is a "disaster in the making". As a result, Graham said that if the reports are true and the plan goes forward he will introduce a "Senate resolution opposing and asking for a reversal of this decision". He predicted such a resolution will have "strong bipartisan support".

It does not matter; the chaos only get's bigger; Graham will change his mind tomorrow as well Trump may change his mind and make it even worse. Those are the Republicans as always, since WWII they can't be trusted. The whole world is watching the "chaos" over here; so what do you think how they will react, while they also lost people in that war because they helped (as well the Kurd's) this "asshole" country's unwarranted (neither Iraq or Syria "attacked" this country) fight there.

How can you appoint an President who knows nothing about the world, let alone anything about the middle east and let him run the show. Talking about an totally naive country. Wow, how can this end well? Impossible!

The article below is even more damning about Trump's decision:

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/trump-defends-syria-withdrawal-amid-outrcry-from-kurdish-allies/ar-AAIoKhw?ocid=spartanntp

As usual, his explanation for his actions makes no sense:

"The United States was supposed to be in Syria for 30 days, that was many years ago. We stayed and got deeper and deeper into battle with no aim in sight. When I arrived in Washington, ISIS was running rampant in the area. We quickly defeated 100% of the ISIS Caliphate".

    And, it gets worse .....

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan considers the Kurdish forces in Syria to be terrorists allied with Kurdish insurgents within his country and has long threatened a military incursion into the area.

Many critics pointed out that Trump and his family have business interests in Turkey. Some cited a 2012 tweet from Ivanka Trump lauding Erdogan for helping launch a project in Istanbul.

"Thank you Prime Minister Erdogan for joining us yesterday to celebrate the launch of #TrumpTowers Istanbul!"

Al Jazeera reports that the Turkish operation in northern Syria has started.

The paper also published a column about the consequences of the U.S. pullout:

The withdrawal is being seen by the Kurdish-spearheaded Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the region, which were key in a US-led campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS) armed group, as leaving them open to attacks by Turkey.

The US's decision to withdraw its approximately 1,000 troops stationed in Syria has left the 60,000-strong force increasingly isolated and now seemingly locked in Ankara's sights.

Washington's move could prompt the SDF to side with US rivals Russia and Iran, the two main military military backers of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

    https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019/10/pullback-northern-syria-key-questions-answered-191007141408983.html

Trump's decision, made after a phone call with the Turkish president on Sunday, is really dumb for a number of reasons, one of which is this:

Analysts say Trump's decision on Syria may risk Republican support in Congress that he needs to survive the Democrat impeachment drive.

"His firewall in the Senate is 34 senators. He only has to lose one or two of them and he's in real trouble," Paul Rosenzweig, a senior fellow for national security at the conservative R Street Institute, told Al Jazeera.

If the Democratic-led House were to impeach Trump, the Senate would conduct a trial of the charges. Democrats would need to win at least 20 of 53 Republican senators to abandon the president to get the 67 votes that would be needed to remove Trump from the White House.

After Trump first announced he wanted to withdraw from Syria in December, former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis resigned in protest. Since then, Pentagon leaders have stalled acting on the directive. As a result, there is no consensus within the Trump administration on any post-conflict plan to withdraw US forces from Syria.

In other words, Trump has absolutely NO IDEA what he is doing .....

Yes I saw the "invasion", even Israel seems to be involved with F16's, Trump is absolutely an accomplish in "murder" not alone Kashochi but also Epstein and now likely plenty of Kurds. When is this country going to wake up and drag Trump into jail.?

I guess people here don't care that our "helpers" in the war against ISIS are being killed right now.

How is it possible that "alone" Trump can decide "policy" or "war acts" without Congress approval.? Is this country crazy and just "blinks"? Yes it is!

All the consequences are clearly the fault of the "mob" in the W.H. But who cares here?

This morning, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the start of the offensive - called 'Operation Peace Spring' - on Wednesday afternoon, and soon after, jets and artillery bombarded Kurdish positions along the border - sending thousands of civilians fleeing.

Trump - who ordered American troops out of the area - said Turkey's incursion into the area was a 'bad idea' and said that Washington 'does not endorse this attack.'

At the risk of being censured, all I can say is "what the fuck did you expect, dip shit?"

    Dutch:

I think that congressional approval is required to send troops in, but apparently it is not required to pull troops out.

Arizona, Sorry in any other country; troops "in or out" should never be an "sole" decision by an President or Prime Minister. Thus this country is "nuts"to allow such. Trump is in "bed" with "dictators" we should know this by now. He scolded also NATO again, while they also helped him in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also said all the ISIS fighter who likely will "escape" the internment camps in the area being attacked, will likely run to European countries, thus not an problem for Trump. He hates all other people except himself and only cares that he has buildings in Istanbul and "business deals". Also he's now 100% the puppet of the Kremlin.

I guess Europe will be very happy to hear that; they are already stuck with millions of refugee's of all the wars "instigated" and started by the US, all they need is on top of that, ISIS fighters.

You call that "partnership"? I hope Europe comes to their senses and will run their own show without US meddling or influence.

Follow the money. It may, or may not be directly connected to Turkey. Maybe Putin asked for a favor in exchange for helping Trump with his money problems.

Prediction: Trump will order half the troops to go back, but only after Turkey has finished bombing the hell out Kurds and have accomplished their goals totally disabling the kurds.

Think how embolden Trump would be if relected. He would no worries about election politics. He would be totally free to double down on what he personally wants.

"What can they do to me after the election. Nothing!!"
