If you type "Syria" into the search bar on this site, you'll find LOTS of articles about Syria. One that I found especially interesting was the one that discussed Donald Trump Jr's meeting with the Russians in November of 2016 to discuss the war in Syria. Since his dad was not even in office yet, and since he has virtually NO foreign policy experience, this meeting was not only ill-advised but also illegal, since a private citizen is not allowed to conduct U.S. foreign policy.

Syria is a VERY complicated topic, and re-reading the posts from April of 2017 will explain why.

Since Trump has no idea what he is doing at all, any response to the current crisis in Syria is more likely to be a "shoot from the hip" call than a carefully thought out plan. Since he has already irritated most of our allies, it's entirely logical that he might as well irritate his benefactor, Vladimir Putin.

I think Facebook and Cambridge Analytica helped Trump become president more than Putin, Trump is just Putin's little lap dog, to call Putin his benefactor isn't accurate IMHO.

What foreign policy? After Trump took over, I don't believe we've had a foreign policy since most foreign policy dignitaries were either fired or quit. Bolton will gladly do as Trump wishes though. Let's wait and see where the missiles land because in the beginning of his campaign and presidency, he wasn't going to telegraph his actions to ISIS, but he did with Syria, allowing Assad and Putin to move their aircraft and hardware out of harms way (U.S. Missiles) the manchild is a maroon.

Trump wants to sent "missiles" into Syria. Thus in other words he thinks he is allowed to kill even more people and kids with this, instead of poison gas. Killing is killing with whatever "tool". I can't imagine that he can do even more destruction than already done to those people. He should be sending "help" instead, as well food, water and medicines, not missiles, he is acting like a stupid Mr. Hitler copy.

His "tweet" about this is as stupid as you can get. Whatever "military"thing he wants to do will only "backfire". In Syria there is no solution, because just about everyone ( Russians, Iranians, Syrian military, resist groups, Al Quada, Turks, Israel, the US) is involved right now. My suggestion is only an "international" via the UN solution should be "tabled". Missiles of whatever kind, is not a solution, but makes the situation only worse, especially for the civilian people who still live there.

Trump: an attack on Syria will come very, very soon. Or, not soon at all.

Isn't this manchild a moron? He thinks the Amerikan military has ships poised to attack a country right off of their coast, he thinks the Amerikan military can be moved on a board like a fucking game of RISK.

Yes, you deplorables, you elected this manchild who really isn't any smarter than a 5 year old.

Talk is cheap. He says don't tell them your intentions. Then he recently says one day we will strike against this "monster" after a weeks notice so they can hide any actual targets. Awaiting the unspoken authority from the boss.

If he had any legitimate plan he would send 18 missiles into the presidential home base at 0300 hours w/o warning or approval. This is merely a whole lot of nothing.

    Talk is cheap.

While the horrors being created in Syria I do believe it is odd that no one seems to be interested in what is going on in Yemen and no one is more responsible for the war crimes going on there then that war criminal, war mongering Oligarchy in Washington DC. America's corporate mass news media refuses to report on these on going war crimes being committed in 5 countries and the fact that the U.S. Congress has been funding these war crimes and has decided to give the Military Industrial Complex another increase of 80 billion.

America's criminal Oligarchy must be destroyed so a new Republic can be established and the only way to do that is destroy that corrupt, destructive economic system called Capitalism that has created that Oligarchy.

Indeed it is dead quiet about Syria and Yemen etc. Considering the mess at home; then the mess there due to the US meddling is even bigger. If they can't even run an decent immigration system here; then it is no wonder that they can't run a war either. Let alone nation building. Everything is to pieces over there thanks to the US by invading Iraq in the first place. Europe has now to accept all the refugee's while the US until now accepted only 11 people, while they are the guilty one's.

All of this under GOP rule; congratulations uneducated deplorables you got what you wanted.

Connie, I wrote about all of this for a long time; however it is impossible, to change this country; since WWII it got into their heads that they think they are superior compared to the rest of the world and therefore never will get rid of the militarism in this country. Right now they got some "bones" (dog bones?) back from N. Korea and are proud of it. But there is no shame at all about all the useless wars the US started after WWII. The war industry did blossom; that's all they want in order to fill the pockets of the rich. That is what you get if an "island" like the US still thinks it can dictate the world. But yeah "Rome" did not last forever either. Slowly but surely we are heading towards the "iceberg"

Yes, a lot of people want a big change in how governance is done. But from where I sit, it seems no one is will to invest three hours to read about a new way for governance.

Dave -- I will take time to read it. I've been on the road for the past two weeks and am just catching up.
