Well I share the sense of rage. That's an emotional response that none of us can really control. However, we do need to put much of that aside and think critically of how we can overcome the artistry of the world's best con artist.
I have watched George Lakoff share his views on MSNBC, and he cautions the media to not fall for Trump's ploys by repeating and showing and discussing his daily Tweets. His tweets are designed to distract from the bigger issues, and they certainly seem to consume air time on MSNBC and CNN. Trump's tactic is repetition, repetition, repetition of the lies. Where did he learn that?
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it..............The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." --- Joseph Goebbels, German Minister of Propaganda, 1933-1945
