The people there are roaring mad at Trump's visit there and had huge demonstrations in Zurich. Also I wonder if Mueller did sent some "spies" to watch Trump talk to all the Russian bankers who are there. Trump probably wants to make sure that these bankers keep their mouth shut and offered "goodies" for them. Ha ha.

Emmanuel Macron's opening remarks were beautiful:

    Here is the best line:

“With this snow, it could be hard to believe in global warming,” Macron joked. “Fortunately, we did not invite anybody sceptical this year.”

One notable absence from the conference is Melania Trump, who previously had planned to attend with her husband. After the Stormy Daniels story came out, she suddenly had scheduling conflicts.

Since I am a long time Cubs fan (the joke has long been when will the Cubs be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs?) I wonder which will come first, Trump's removal from office or his divorce from Melania.

Indeed it is very easy to get rid if Melania; she did work here without a proper visa or "green card" ; thus can be deported. But yeah she can then buy a huge castle in Slovenia for peanuts from the divorce money.

I did read this and wonder if Trump is aware of that the world does not agree with him.

Trump has attracted a lot of attention in Davos, and a lot of it was not favorable, as reported in today's Al Jazeera:

    aljazeera.com/news/2018/01/trump-davos-...

Here are some of the highlights :

"I've always been very successful at making money," the president claimed, going on to say the stock market was up 50 percent.

In Geneva, protesters placed a memorial wreathe for Heather Heyer, a counter-protester killed by a white nationalist at a US far-right rally in August, at the entrance of the US diplomatic mission.

For his part, Trump was happy about his performance as the leader of the US government.

"It was time," for him to be president, Trump claimed. Citizens of the US are less enthused. The Gallup ratings agency that tracks presidential approval ratings claims pegged support for Trump's job at 36 percent of the country as of January 21, while 59 percent of US voters disapproved."

His threat to cut off funding to the Palestinians is also guaranteed to be counter-productive:

Does Trump research his pleadings and actions. He appears to do whatever he wants with no basis and call any negative reaction "fake news".
