This should have been top of the news for the day, if not the entire week. But trump was the top of the news, and two HS Student shot dead wasn't worthy of being a top story. Even on MSNBC, it only got a ticker tape announcement at the bottom of the TV screen that is always there. There was no actual reporting, not even video.

Also, note that our great system of air travel has a far better track record of preventing deaths. If there is a crash or missing plane, millions and millions are invested into determining the cause so that it can be prevented. Even to this day the investigation continues into what caused disappearance (March 2014) of malaysian flight mh370 and why we can't find it.

My point is we do have the will and resources to do things that saves lives when those things do not get overly politicalized. We don't do anything about guns shooting in schools because people with guns are afraid the solution will take away some guns from some people, or those who dislike guns are afraid that the solution will included weapons.

All I can say " nothing new" this country will never learn; the same with drug overdoses or substance abuse. Love those guns. The people who wrote the "Second Amendment" are turning over in their graves.

There are aspect of the Constitution that could be eliminated or re-written. In my opinion owning\using weapons should be an earned privilege, not a right.

The NRA has missed a huge opportunity by not taking control of the matter in a non-political way. They should make it so there are many skill levels to owning guns. Think of it like having a Black Black belt in gun weapon handling. Taking years to develop the required skills to own\use various guns. With it would come huge respect and responsibility. Those that attain the elite master status would be people who know what they are doing with weapons, and unlikely to misuse them. As it stands currently, it easy for any wacko, unstable divorced person, drunk, etc to get a weapon, and kill someone that same day.

There is no solution. I can't think of anything that would prevent gun deaths other than unwarranted search and seizure to confiscate guns. There was a private citizens dash cam recording of a shooting in town a couple of days ago. A probable drug fight has A Lexus one lane over at a stop light sticking a pistol out a window and shoots about 7 shots into another car. That driver rolls out and starts shooting back. This is about 3:30 in the afternoon. Video has license plate numbers and already an arrest of a felon in possession of a gun. Nearby town a deputy leaves a full automatic (machine gun ) AR15 in his car in his driveway and the machine gun is stolen. Every crook felon drug dealer has at least one gun. Millions upon millions of illegal guns. The only solution is like I said cops riding around stopping people and searching houses to get guns. There is absolutely no law of any kind that is going to turn the tide on gun violence other than confiscation. It is a law enforcement problem and the law should take care of it...

Be honest.... who actually remembers that this happened just a couple of weeks before the florida killings?

It made the news, but it was just a "typical" school shooting where a measly two students were killed, and 18 injured.

My point is a few students killed has become normalized and acceptable. It now needs to be over 15 killed for it to be a problem. Below 15 killed, it nothing more than a blip on the radar.
