On Tv the GOP "slime" show was about the worst ever; it makes people like me puke. Everyone praised Trump into heaven. The biggest slimeball was Pence; he repeated over and over on how Trump saved the world and how sweet he is.

All the other butt crawlers stumbled over each other to praise the 7 year old "kid". Carson even designed an laughable prayer where he dragged in God who had made Trump so fantastic etc.

All of this is so sickening; yes the lowest form of humanity are the Trumpists. The real GOP does not exist anymore.

Yes this is the downfall of the Empire.

I have gotten to the where I can't handle listen to anything trump says for more than 10-15 seconds. I either switch channels or use the mute.

Dictionary.com threw some serious shade at Pence by linking the definition of sycophant to a tweet they wrote about him. It made my day.

Does anyone think Pence actually believes the garbage that comes out of his mouth or do you think he's questioning every decision he's made in his life? He's basically the least powerful person in the world, but is one heartbeat away from having his evangelical hands on the keys to our nuclear codes.

Maybe he's just doing whatever it takes to not get fired by Donald. That's all I can think of because he looks like a total fool sucking off Donald's teat like he's a tiny little baby calf desperate for milk.

Good question. MSNBC reported that Pence praised trump every 12 seconds when he spoke yesterday, and over all it was an absurd number of times total. Something that off the chart in terms of statements praising the president from the VP or any other staff going back decades. BS like "You're the greatest president in history" or "No other president in history has accomplish so many great things", or "You have done more for the American people than any other president"

Pence is the glue that keeps evangelical christians having blind faith that trump is doing God's Work. trump needs Pence to make BS statements so that evangelicals will continue to have blind faith that no matter what trump says\does that they personally find offensive\vulgar\unacceptable\etc , its all part of God's Plan, thus they need to keep supporting him no matter what. In Orwell's Animal farm, they are representative by "Boxer" the workhorse who follows orders without question, and he ultimately sold to the glue factory once his usefulness was gone.

He maybe just following orders conveyed to him by Cheif Of Staff Kelly, something akin to "The president wants you spending more time publicly expressing your thoughts about his accomplishments. He is disappointed that you're not praising him enough. He thinks you're not fully on the trump team, and wants to you to demonstrate your loyalty.".

My experience of how to deal with Evangelicals is to speak in terms they can understand, which often means making absurd statements to get my point across. I might say "President trump is the Antichrist". They may ask what proof I have, and I respond "God told me, and that is all the proof I need".

I don't argue the facts, I just summarize the facts into absurd statements that they understand, and they find impossible to have a counter argument. There is no counter argument to irrational beliefs or statements or actions.

Orrin Hatch has joined the ranks of the sycophants. Several news outlets reported on this gushing tribute to Trump but I extracted it from Newsmax.

Quoting Hatch in his participation of the victory of passing tax reform:

"Mr. President, I have to say that you're living up to everything I thought you would," Hatch said. "You're one heck of a leader. We're all benefitting from it. This bill could not have passed without you."

"This is just the beginning," Hatch said. "You stop and think about it, this president hasn't even been in office for a year. Look at all the things he's been able to get done by sheer will in many ways. I just hope that we get behind him every way we can, and we'll get this country turned around in ways that will benefit the whole world.

"Above all, benefit our people. Bring us all to a realization of how really great America really is and how the rest of the world depends on us."

"I came from very humble roots," Hatch said. "And I have to say, that this is one of the great privileges of my life, to stand here on the White House lawn with the president of the United States, who I love and appreciate so much, and with these wonderful colleagues and Cabinet members that stand behind us. To see all of you and realize that you care too.

"All I can say is that God loves this country. We all know it. We wouldn't be where we are without him. And we love all of you. We're going to keep fighting and we're going to make this the greatest presidency that we've seen not only in a generation, but maybe ever. God bless all of you."

Yes Schmidt, my feelings exactly; how sick can a country become? They all live in la la land. The only problem is that the captain of the Titanic is an 7 year old kid.

    OK.

Does Pence believe what he says about Trump? It isn’t a matter of belief. It is a matter of posturing and political positioning. If Trump survives investigation then he will run in 2020. If Trump wins then Pence stays along for the ride because he kisses ass so well. Then Pence is positioned for 2024. If Trump is removed from office Pence benefits.

Imo, not one of these Republicans actually “believes” the praise they heap on the man-child. They are playing the political angles with their religious and high-wealth base.

Finally, the Democratic Party had better get their shit together starting with the mid-terms in 2018.

The Clown show should end January 20, 2021. People who can't be bothered with significant things like voting (usually) will vote in record numbers. How much damage will happen up to that point is my concern.

Just a couple of things, TJ. I operate on two theories.

    1) The Theory of Paranoia: Just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean that they’re not out to get me.

    2) Bird’s Theorem: We the People are stupid.

I know I'm being optimistic, but I predict he is gone before Jan 22, 2019.

I simply base this on my estimation that trump will continue to escalate and further abuse his power, triggering events far worse than watergate; forcing trump out of office. He may declare victory and resign for so-called "health reasons" simply because that is his best option compared to what he will be facing otherwise. If he had to choose between his business ventures and being president, he would resign immediately. He is only president to further his own interests, no other reasons other than ego.

We know he is a fuck-up, and that will never change. It's just a matter of how long and how bad our nation will tolerate it before forcing him out of office.

I'm conflicted about whether I want Donald to leave before his term is up or not. On one hand, he's an incompetent neanderthal who is turning our country into a laughingstock. One the other hand, Mike Pence scares me six ways from Sunday. He's just as crazy as Donald, but is able to be crazy with a gentle voice and a smile on his face.

A President Pence would be a million times more successful than Donald could ever dream of being and that scares the living bejesus out of me.
