Frank Bruni, New York Times Opinion, November 3, 2017: Sarah Huckabee Sanders Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
I saw this article in the New York Times. It hit my "oh yeah" button. I detest Sarah Huckabee Sanders for the way she can be so dismissive and contemptuous of the media she is supposed to serve. Her daily press briefings lead off with the usual "Trump wins" and then go down hill from there. As Bruni states:
"But her briefings are breathtaking — certainly this week’s were. For some 20 minutes every afternoon, down is up, paralysis is progress, enmity is harmony, stupid is smart, villain is victim, disgrace is honor, plutocracy is populism and Hillary Clinton colluded with Russia if anyone would summon the nerve to investigate her (because, you know, that never, ever happens). I watch and listen with sheer awe."
I am not in awe of her...that's Bruni's word. I am more bewildered by her antics and the way the press treats her so respectfully when I would like to shout at her: "caught the crap!" But she is one of Trump's most loyal spokepersons covering up for every lie.
Yesterday each of the members of the press had to tell her what they were thankful for before they were allowed to state their question. They obliged as she smiled approvingly. Sheesh.
