The general thinking is freeing up money will create spending and kick start the economy creating wealth and prosperity for the lower classes. That thinking is both parties. Democratic thinking was to raise taxes and spend that money. Republican thinking is to cut taxes and spend that money. Democratic thinking has a better chance of working because that tax money would typically come from higher incomes and money that would not be spent. The Republican idea of cutting taxes is a fallacy because the cut taxes represent lost jobs. The money saved by a reduced tax liability will be divided between saving, investing and spending. A tax cut will have little to no effect in boosting the economy.
It is pretty silent about bringing prosperity to the lower classes. That would solve a lot of problems. Or is the thinking the lower classes have reached their limit?
