Hopefully they are both safe. Florida Power & Light Co. is reporting that those who live on the west coast - where Ft. Meyers is - may be without power until September 22. I'm not sure what town TJ lives in.
My guess is they have bigger fish to fry than sign on here and talk politics. Hopefully we will hear from them again soon.
All you guys thanks for the interest:
Yes it was horrible; had an tornado on top of it; ripped the trees apart as well all the roof shingles; the howling wind came first from the east; the at a quarter to eight it was quiet then also an tornado hit but first and exactly the "eye" of the hurricane coming straight at us and the the tornado followed with the biggest force I've ever seen. It look s like an war zone here now. Sorry we did not have power or an phone line neither the cell phone worked. The house was boarded up but could could not protect the roof. he damage in yard is enormous; branches all split with an unbelievable force. Have flooding in the whole community about half to a meter deep; stores were closed and are slowly opening; but most shelves are empty. we bought a lot of water etc. before the thing hit us. But we are alive; no airco at an 92 degree temperature makes it so that you can't sleep. The humidity is about 90%; so you sweat wherever you go. Looks like Africa here now. ( just like a lot of things here; like the power lines) We just got power now.All the damage happened in less than 15 minutes at a quarter to eight Sunday night; over 140 miles/p/hr windSo there is an lot to repair; the total roof; the pool cage as well have to saw more branches than in an forest etc. So I don't have to be bored.Anyway it will be an while to write on the site; because I'll be trying to fix the house etc. and be dead tired.
Love you guys
Rob

I missed this post in my travels. Glad you and your wife survived the hurricane but sorry for all the damage. Hope your neighbors survived as well. You probably didn't miss much politics wise anyway. Same ole story there.
It will take some time to get back to normal. All the best to you and your wife...

It will be interesting to note that there are existing Mexican roofing crews all over the USA. Whether they are still in business in these times is dubious. You may have to do the job yourself because if the fat asshole has chased all these crews back to Mexico then it will be a long time before they get the state back up and running.
Let us know , if the Mexicans are there .
