What did you think about trump's speech on Afghanistan?

He may have said a lot of right words, but they weren't trump's ideas\feelings\thoughts; didn't look like he believed what he was saying. More like a bad boy forced to apologize for doing something wrong, but deep down he's not sorry about anything.

Tuesday's night rally will be interesting, more than likely he will unleash what he really thinks\feel; another hate speech. He has been strongly advised not to pardon Joe Arpaio, but he is likely to say he's "considering pardoning..." which his base will think he will pardon Arpaio "very soon", but trump will leave it in limbo like so many other things he has promised to his base, but of course never will.

I did not watch, how's that? Instead, I watched Matt Dillon fight crime in Dodge city Kansas. What's wrong with me?

Take note, he gave himself an out when he said "My original instinct was to pull out, and historically I follow my instincts, but..." In other words, if something goes wrong, he'll revert back and say something like "I knew I shouldn't have done it, I got really BAD advice, I trusted some really stupid generals. My original instinct was 100% correct, and the generals were all wrong, so so wrong you wouldn't believe it!".

I too didn't watch. Some that I know aren't Trump supporters but said after the speech that they liked much of what he said. He was communicating.

Pelosi will set the world straight. Since some don't get it let me admit a Pelosi comment is sarcasm and she's a joke. Today I will talk with many and get their views.

I did not watch either; put on Netflix. I saw afterwards that he looked totally fake. Especially the thing about Pakistan and India what he said is awfully stupid. They both have "nukes" as well neither one loves the other. So if you want to stick your foot into another wasps nest, be my guest. Sorry but this guy knows nothing about the world at all. Dumber than shit!

He has no idea at all what Afghanistan is all about; may be he should talk to the Russians!!

I watched the speech. I agree with wwjd...this was another scripted speech read from the transponder. Probably Kelly wrote it or vetted it very carefully. We will likely see the real Trump unscripted in Phoenix.

I do not understand why he targeted Pakistan so cruelly however. Maybe the generals also have frustrations with Pakistan.

17 year war means a 17 year income. I think he was guided by the 17 year money makers. Curious what Blackwater has to say about it?

Schmidt; I did do work for the Pakistani military (troop ships) as well in India. If you are smart then you don't touch it; it is an huge can of worms . Sorry to say then our generals are an bunch of stupid asses as well. If you start playing with fire you will get burned. All of this is as stupid as we did in the middle east. Amen

Wrong, he will never admit to making the wrong decision or mistake.

As a general statement I agree he never takes responsibility for mistakes. In this fictional statement he is deflecting the mistake to others rather than take responsibility, which he has done in the past. If there is clear problem he'll never admit the buck stops at his desk without clarifying that someone else is at fault. "The buck stops at my desk, I didn't want to do it in the first place, bs, bs, bs..." is more trump's version of the classic phrase.

Well, during his campaign, he claimed that he knew more than the generals on the ground, I wonder wat happened wit dat? duh. if he only had a brain.

Yes, he can pardon the Arizona ranger, but would that make either one less of a racist? no.

    Afganistan?

    Kipling said it best.

When you're wounded and lying on Afganistan's plains

And the women come out to cut up what remains

Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains

And go to your Gawd like a soldier.

sending 4000 troops or 40,000 troops won't mean a phucquing thing. Neither will dropping bombs. Iirc, there was a province in Vietnam where more bomb tonnage was dropped by the U.S. than on all of Germany in WW2. Didn't do a whole lot of good. As for bombing pipelines and oil fields, well, that will do nothing but recruit more to Daesh. But Donnie the Dolt doesn't realize that. He and the generals are too busy fighting the war 4 wars ago.

Lonely; they will never learn in this country. On this "island" they have no idea on how the rest of the world lives. The US meddling all over has cost trillions since WWII. None of our lost wars since 1945 ever solved anything at all. Trump wants also to expand that including more money for war junk and the military. In the meantime there is no money for decent healthcare. Appoint some more Generals that will help!! Sorry this country is too arrogant to admit all of their mistakes. I've said way back that Afghanistan never should have been invaded, because that country never attacked us. It was Bin Laden and his gang; thus we should have only gone after those guys, but not an whole country. But we will never learn.

Money, money, money. What would happen if the USA would only spend trillions of dollars on humanitarian causes? Starting at home.
