When you're wounded and left on Afganistan's plains And the women come out to cut up what remains Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains And go to your Gawd like a soldier... Trump doesn't have a frigging clue and I ain't gonna give him one.

I'll get blasted for posting a wiki link, but here I go. Again. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mining_in_Afghani... "Mining in Afghanistan is controlled by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, which is headquartered in Kabul with regional offices in other parts of the country. Afghanistan has over 1400 mineral fields,[1][2][3] containing barite, chromite, coal, copper, gold, iron ore, lead, natural gas, petroleum, precious and semi-precious stones, salt, sulfur, talc, zinc among many other minerals.[1][4] Gemstones include high-quality emerald, lapis lazuli, red garnet and ruby. According to a joint study by The Pentagon and the United States Geological Survey, Afghanistan has an estimated 1 trillion USD[5] of untapped minerals, although other sources estimate it at 3 trillion USD.[6][7] In December 2013, President Karzai claimed the mineral deposits are actually worth $30 trillion,[8] a quantity that would exceed total global mining revenues (in 2016) by a factor of approximately 60.[9] There are six lapis mines in Afghanistan, the largest being located in Badakhshan province. There are around 12 copper mines in Afghanistan, including the Aynak copper deposit located in Logar province.[10] Afghanistan's significance from an energy standpoint stems from its geographical position as a potential transit route for oil and natural gas exports from Central Asia to the Arabian Sea. This potential includes the construction of the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline gas pipeline.[11] The first Afghan oil production began in October 2012." Notice the first mineral listed is barite, there is quartz in layers after the ground is broken by shovels and dozers, and in that quartz is a mix of precious and semi precious stones. As a rock hunter, I almost wished I was there to pick through rock and sand to find specimens. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baryte#/media/Fil... treasuremountainmining.com/Minerals-a-z... dnr.mo.gov/geology/geosrv/imac/barite.h... I've rock hounded in Missouri and have come back with some very nice, ornate barite crystals. I'll bet there are some fine geodes in Afghanistan. bing.com/images/search?q=geodes+from+af...

Dutch Wrote: Great!! Dock, let's kick the Yankee's out and start an business there! No wonder Trump wants to steal all those resources. I just wonder who got rich in those 16 years war; in any case Karzai got plenty of money from here and likely joined our billionaires club. I bet quite a few Americans got richer as well, including in the arms industry. What a world! Yeah, well, we'd have to dodge mortar shells and other stuff. I'm not sure if that was the Russian's intent when they first invaded Afghanistan, but if it was, it was a feeble tryout. I just wonder too who is getting wealthy off another country's misery? I watched 1/2 or less of a documentary about Venezuela a few days ago, all that oil they have, and the country can't even take care of it's own problems. Sounds familiar though, Iraq is destabilized as is Afghanistan, from foreigners interfering with their problems. At least that's the way I perceive it.

Does any American citizen have even the slightest idea why we are in really fighting in Afghanistan? I think not. 16 years to fight a war that is totally meaningless to us for no other reason than to keep the military busy and make huge profits for American big business. We have an ignorant population that is ready to believe any BS they are told if it will "cut taxes and make them safe". The very people who voulenteer to join the military so they can go and "fight" to protect our "freedom" are the enablers who have curtailed our freedoms. Fighting all these needless, immoral and expensive wars for years and years only serves the 1% that profit from them at the expense of ignorant, undereducated, macho fools who become nothing but cannon fodder to MAGA! Is it any wonder most of the civilized world just looks at us and shakes their hean in amazement that a country can be controlled by a few ignorant voters and a clow president? We have become the laughing stock of the world and it's only the fear of our needless military might that keeps us on time. We are always fighting the wrong people for the wrong reasons and because the politicians wrap it up in patriotism the gulable masses accept it. We have learned nothing since Vietnam Nam and I fear we never will.
