As we have come to grips with numerous Trumpisms, there is hardly a day goes by that something Trump has said or done that doesn't blow my mind. He has become fodder for jokes by late night comedians as well as satirical news websites like the Onion. And at times it is hard to distinguish satire and fake news from real news...anything said or written no matter how outrageous becomes believable.

Yesterday I shared a story published in the Nation Magazine that was so outrageous that it just couldn't be true. It had to do with lavish gifts given to Trump by King Salman on Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia. After posting it, I looked at it again and thought, sheesh what have I done? I deleted it while giving myself a head slap.

I notice the story is also gone from the Nation's website this morning, but it is still out there alive in the blogosphere and some semi-respectable websites.

This is just another example of how Donald Trump has gotten into our heads...when the preposterous becomes believable. Of course it is not new. We saw it with fake news and conspiracy theories spread as facts about President Obama and Hillary Clinton. But now with Donald Trump occupying the Oval Office, the shoe is on the other foot.

Now the very respectable New York Times and the Washington Post seem to be trying to outdo each other on scoops and leaks about Trump, Kushner and others in the Trump administration. I just hope they don't jeopardize the real investigation going on by the Special Counsel Mueller and the FBI.

The leaked story of Kushner wanting to use the Russian embassy in Washington DC as a back door private channel to conduct business with Russia away from the prying eyes of the Obama administration intelligence folks is another one that seems so outrageous in itself. I therefore cannot help asking myself, suppose it's a false story that the Russians deliberately planted knowing full well that their communications were being monitored by the US intelligence agencies. And when the real truth is revealed, the Washington Post will look like fools, and Trump will go away triumphant having the solid reputation of the Washington Post tarnished.

    Just a thought....

Yes you correctly describe this issue. But yeah, that is the present world we live in. All of this is caused as I said so many times, because the US refuses to be "normal" in this world. Trumps behavior as well the idiots around him cause all of this, as well the stupid laws and systems here. Thus again all of this is an self inflicted wound, for which there is no magic potion to heal it, only more B.S. spewed by our "leaders". Like Corker says; Trumps trip was "fantastic"; others say it was an total disaster. In any case the European think it was an total disaster, including me. So what is fake news in this case?

Trump learned from Cohn to say anything you want to get your way. His preposterous campaign and promises all lies. Trump set the rules. Anything goes. Nobody challenges him. The Times and Post are in competition. They are in headline competition. So who knows where or what the limit is to actually reporting the truth.

Trump's home run wasn't. It was along the first base line and went curving into foul territory, he and his followers didn't watch the ball long enough before he ran the bases thinking it was a home run, it was his own fake news, he put it out there and the sheep ate it up and publicized it. He's the originator of fake news.

Yes indeed; like he said, Obama tapped his phones. Looking at his body posture and needs an golf cart to get around, means he likely never played baseball and does not know what an "home run" means.

I know now that we think alike, almost, we're so close. Remember when he was invited to throw out the first pitch at the National's home opener? I told my wife that he's probably never ever played ball, and probably has never had a baseball in his hand, and probably doesn't know how to throw a baseball, my wife was stunned when I said that to her, and I said, well, think about it.

I grabbed this from another place on the internet:

These are the top 10 reasons Donald Trump is refusing to throw out the first pitch of the Nationals' baseball season.

    10. Gesture would implicitly condone actions of Cuban players who helped Ted Cruz's dad shoot President Kennedy in the head

    9. Hands too small, can't grab ball

    8. Unclear where ball should be grabbed anyway given that it doesn't have a [redacted]

    7. Players are too old and too male to make for good locker-room sleazeball creeping

    6. Upset that Obama beat out Mike Trout for ISIS MVP award despite worse advanced stats

    5. Disappointed when someone told him there are no Trump University alums playing in the game because Trump University didn't have a baseball team and was, in fact, a high-pressure sales scam rather than a real institution of higher learning

    4. Presence of actual, complete, non-imaginary wall in outfield makes him jealous

    3. Can't sleep because he keeps seeing this on the inside of his eyelids every time he tries to get even a moment's peace. By God, her visage haunts his very dreams.

    2. Would probably be booed mercilessly given that he has an extremely low approval rating and would be appearing in a city in which he only got 4 percent of the vote anyway

    1. Still upset about 1947 integration of the major leagues

While the US Congress and that Orwellian World of stupid (America's mass news media) is obsessing for months on imaginary Russian shenanigans in cyper space the most important issue in our country is being totally ignored and has been for the last 15 years and that is the slaughter of 10's of thousands of human beings, the destruction of 7 countries and the creation of millions of refugees and there is no question that these criminal activities by the US Government are considered ongoing war crimes against humanity.

Sorry, but someone on the site blames NATO; they invaded all these countries and killed millions. Wow

Sounds like Trump started a fake news story tweeting he was under investigation, his lawyer says he is not.

Here is a good BS legal defense of Trump by Newt Gingrich:

    1) Legally the president can't ever be convicted of breaking any US Law
    2) If can't be convicted, by definition everything he does is legal.
    3) If everything he does is legal, he can't be investigated for anything.
    4) Because of all of the above, logically Trump is, and always will be, an innocent man.
