This self righteous ignorant man child is who represents us. I am not sure why everything he does (all day/every day) isn't objected to. I personally believe it's the bigotry of our population being satisfied that a white man is in charge. Yesterday he was a rude awkward fool who's feeling self importantance is far more important that civility, kindness, or decorum.

It wasn't just that he shoved aside Montenegro's Prime Minister Dusko Markovic to get to the front of the pack and cameras, it was also the expression of self satisfaction on his face looking around left and right after he did it. What an ass. That clip is being shown around the world and rightfully so as it defines Donald Trump.

Well, we quietly object to his treatment of others in blogs and forums like this one, I'm wondering where all the protestors are? In the 60's and 70's, Americans wouldn't have put up with this crap. I know one thing for sure, if I were there, I would have said excuse me, who do you think you're pushing around, I would have made a scene of it and made him back down. Maybe people like being pushed around? I'm not that gutless. I do believe in karma though, everything that he does will bite him back in the future, it's just a matter of time and a location, in an instant.

And if he is not impeached or does not resign he will win in 2020. Do not underestimate the stupidity of the American electorate. How many thought there was no way Bush2 would win in 2004?

The Democratic Party needs to get off their mental asses and get organized. Every state is important. The midterms are important. It is intriguing to watch and listen to the idiocy that passes for political process in this ridiculous country. A republican candidate in Montana roughs up a reporter and what happens? Is there indignation? Is there a call from his own party to drop out? No. Instead Paul Ryan mumbles and the Republican Party continues to support the guy and he wins.

It is time for the Democratic Party to understand that the time for niceties has passed. The Republican Party machinery does not give a damn about anything but holding onto power and increasing it if possible. Democrats must take the position of utterly destroying the opposition. They must use every weapon available to them, EVERY weapon. Or else they run the risk of becoming nothing more than completely impotent. And this means starting at every level from city councils to school boards to state offices to federal. Do you think the republicans don't have a plan? Even with the train wreck as president they may very well get their entire agenda through.

And don't talk about how many more people voted for Hillary or how the electoral college should be abolished. That means nothing. Focusing on the presidency means nothing when the entire edifice is infected with Republicans due to better organization, better messaging and gerrymandering.

You're all absolutely correct. I think the R's have seized the winning concepts and taken over. I hate them and their ways but once you've lost you're invisible. We must find a way to get off of the floor and fight hard and effectively. In the interim we must call an idiot for his malicious hateful ways. Time for far more dissent and protests or at least loud objections.

Lonely and T.J. fully agree. I've got the feeling that the "media" is our only source of help. Sorry I saw an interview last night of the Dem's head, about what they have done in Montana; it was an poor excuse. They could have nailed this GOP guy by stating what was said about him in the Guardian and his Russian connections but never did. Forget the party; the "sweet" voice of Pelosi wont help.

I am a bit skeptical that the US has been taken over by ignorant racists that worship the methods of Nazi Germany, and that in a matter of months the nightly news is going to be showing immigration task forces dragging women and children out of homes by their hair, only to be later waterboarded live in primetime to the the crowd cheering "Make them scream, Make them scream. Make them Scream" with a show climax beheading of a baby. It's just paranoia of wanting Trump and Republicans to be that bad.

Trump is an outlier, who got elected during a perfect storm of circumstances, which includes 8-16 years of ignoring a segment of the population that neither party has cared about.

IMHO, Trump won't last 4 years, and he doesn't even want to last 4 years; given the opportunity to leave office, he'll quickly hand over the Presidency to Pence. And, if people think Trump is a bad hombre, wait until Pence starts signing well crafted executive orders that are bullet proof by having been vetted by a skilled legal team that goes far far right of what Trump ever would consider doing. Trump does what's best for Trump Inc and Trump's immature ego. Trump only supports issues that help him, reversing Roe vs Wade doesn't help him, so Trump will never actively pursue it seriously, but Pense will take action on far far right issues that Trump could care less about. Trump is far more like a used car dealer who strictly interested in making the next sale. He does not care if the sale is a rusted out 1998 pickup truck, or 2017 BMW, he just loves the rush he gets from the process.

    From Wiki Quotes, Adolph Hitler:

"In a hundred years time, perhaps, a great man will appear who may offer them (the Germans) a chance at salvation. He'll take me as a model, use my ideas, and follow the course I have charted." -- Adolph Hitler, as quoted in “Der Führer als Redner,” Adolf Hitler. Bilder aus dem Leben des Führers" (The Fuherer as a speaker) by Joseph Goebbels.

Well it's not quite a hundred years, but hey, you could say Trump is ahead of his time...

wwjd -- You are right about that. I believe in our democracy, and Donald Trump is an anomaly in the course of history. He is on course to be removed from office. His Republican enablers in Congress and the corporate world will pull the plug on him as soon as they feel that they have gotten what they wanted out of him and are ready for the Pence presidency and his Christian Crusade, which in many ways will be far worse for Democrats.

Schmidt Trump can be perceived as the leader of gang that can't shoot straight, and there are good odds that whatever he attempts to do in terms of legislation, will fall apart. Both sides can see that Trump is not a leader, and he is nothing more than a show\sales man pretending to be a leader.

To me it's looking more and more that Trump is protecting himself so that he remains on friendly terms with the Russians. While he might not be exactly compromised politically, I suspect the Russians have legal direct\indirect ties to Trump Inc, and Trump wants to protect those business relationships. Maybe they have loaned him money and\or invested in various Trump projects, and its been profitable for both sides, thus Trump does not want to see come to an end just because he got elected President. Plus, I beleive Trump identifies with how Russians operate, they cut through the bureaucracy, and simply issues orders.

I posted a link in another thread about how both parties are not in touch with the mass American. Here is another reason why I think the people are fed up with the Democratic Party. There is a segment of low income people that are particularly put off by the Democratic Party. People want health insurance and if they can afford it they will buy it. The ACA particularly offends a huge segment in dealing with lo/no income people. First is the insult of being fined in your country by your government who works for you. No matter how it is phrased it makes the low income people feel threatened and unsafe. Then there is the case of people that can afford the premiums but because of the deductible and co-pay can't afford to use the insurance. Feeling threatened these people to realize that their premiums are making insurance affordable for a certain group of higher income people. So now they are threatened about not buying insurance that they can't use but helps higher income people use. The people that absolutely can't afford insurance are given a pass that says they are not required to have insurance. Of all the groups this group probably needs health insurance more than any other. The people that need the help the most are totally abandoned by the Democratic Party. This is a large segment of people and they intermix with all the people. They justifiably feel not only abandoned but also threatened. They are friends with, related to and intermix with everybody. A lot of people feel their pain. Then crowning glory comes when these people feeling desperate, confused and hopeless are called deplorable buy the leader of the party that has traditionally been the working persons party. What can be expected from these people when the guy with his name on one of the biggest private jets in the world promises them good paying jobs. And the leader of the working person's party, their party, is telling them they are doing fine and everything is okay. And they have been hearing how wages haven't gone up in the last thirty years. But on the even darker side the consensus seems to be that Trump will self destruct and Hillary will rightly get her presidency and the status quo of the DNC still says everything is fine. No matter how bad Trump is and he very well may self destruct but the next in line is not the status quo Democratic Party. Not unless Bernie or somebody with the same message of equality and fairness appears as the leader of the Democratic Party. Paying attention to and rallying around Hillary is a losing cause. Obama sealed her fate by giving a $400,000 talk to Wall Street. He condoned her Wall Street connection and smeared the Democratic Party with that $400,000. What was he thinking???

Chet -- You're off topic. We were discussing Trump the vile character and you reverted to your stump speech. Let's discuss your points under the thread about the split in the Democratic Party.

In any case, to mold the Democratic Party into a Bernie Party, you'll need 218 Bernie clones in the House of Representatives and 60 Bernie clones in the Senate. Do you remember the record number of filibusters used against the Obama initiated legislation? That's why we need 60 in the Senate. With only 59 Bernie clones in the Senate, any Bernie initiated legislation is not going to get past the ruthlessness of the Republican Party. They blocked Obama...they'll block Bernie.

So with that reality check, go back to the thread on the split in the Democratic Party. It's a good one.

    "They blocked Obama...they'll block Bernie."

So what??? It would be a start and give hope to the deserted abandoned. That is reality. Apparently you deny the real reality that Trump decimated your status quo DNC. Now, back on topic!!!!
