It's true, NBC reported a few minutes ago that Trump fired FBI director James Comey.

The chickens are coming home to roost.

    From the New York Times:

F.B.I. Director James Comey Is Fired by Trump

"WASHINGTON — President Trump has dismissed the director of the F.B.I., James B. Comey, on the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, White House spokesman Sean Spicer said on Tuesday.

“While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau,” Mr. Trump said in a letter dated Tuesday to Mr. Comey.

“It is essential that we find new leadership for the F.B.I. that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission,” Mr. Trump wrote."

    ----------------------------------------------

Don't know what to read into this. The optics for Trump are bad. But Comey's performance before the Senate Judiciary Committee wasn't very stellar.

Mr. Trump, You can fire whomever you like. So much for gratitude. That man gave you the presidency. You can't fire or dismiss the truth.

This shows me that Bannon is still calling shots and creating kaos. As I said before this is a coup. You will start hearing that word more . The fat idiot is freaking out. He is seething and needed a victim. Bannon served up Comey. The FBI investigation will continue. Hell without Comey it will probably get serious. The fat idiot needed blood and so ate his own. Who else is there to fire? He already refuses to fill any posts. He has his family hanging around apparently doing something . He can't fire Paul Ryan or he would have been gone long ago. He can't fire general McMasters , although I hear they don't get along at all. He just can't fire him . Everyone else would quit and he would be left alone , at the top all alone. He is panicking. He is a very dangerous rat cornered now. Becoming more alone. Alone with a few ghoulish the people can you imagine. The meetings with Bannon , Miller, Conway, Jared ,Ivanka, some other creepy people in our white house as they plot their crimes ?

I write my Republican congressman all the time to remind him that he is now a russian asset. I hope he gets cancer too.

In spite of the insanity occuring in the white house , our government continues to function. The repugs are lobbing harmless junk bills no one takes seriously as usual and getting away with it . Imagine if both parties behaved like three year olds ? The AHCA is crap. It's a joke. A stunt by the fat idiot and the desperate Congress critters who for some strange reason I cannot understand took it up the ass for that fat idiot. Had to be cold cash involved in that deal. Naked pictures and hardball tactics ? Eating their own ?

And when it get slow the fat idiot just makes something up that is crazy. Tweets something crazy anymore it's old hat. We are getting accustomed to the crazy. When they do crazy things we won't be surprised or outraged .

But McMasters is having none of it.

In listening to the non-stop coverage on MSNBC and all the experts that they roll out, it is indeed hard to understand all the related events and rational for the firing. It appears to me to be another knee-jerk rushed reaction from Trump to get rid of Comey "immediately" as the process was sloppy. Comey himself found out about his firing as he looked across the room at a giant TV screen while he was delivering a speech in Los Angeles. His first thought was that it was a joke. Furthermore, the TV coverage was ahead of the termination letter that was delivered to Comey's office in Washington DC, even though he wasn't there.

No one knew this was coming...a total surprise. Whatever you might think about Comey, he deserved better than this after a long career of public service. Trump didn't even have the guts to wait and call Comey into his office and deliver the news to his face and fire him. Not even the courtesy of a phone call. I guess it's much easier to say "you're fired" on his Apprentice Show than to do it in real life facing someone who is a much better person than Trump is. Trump is classless.

I should add that like many of the MSNBC pundits, this firing was all about squashing the Russian - Trump collusion investigation. The investigation will be slowed. It already has been stymied to some extent by Republicans. Comey's replacement will be compelled to carry on, but maybe less zealously.

The truth will eventually come out, but probably not soon enough to stop the Trump Train. And even if that train is stopped, the Pence Train is waiting on a wayside track ready to carry on his particular crusade.

Indeed, the circumstances very very strange. Take note that there was no leaking or rumors that he was about to fire. If it had been planned for weeks, they did one hell of a job keeping it 100% quiet. This makes me tend to believe the decision was a result of a Trump's frustration that the FBI director was not under his total control and\or wasn't willing to look the other way.

As president Trump is also likely he gets more info about is happening at the FBI in terms of the Russian investigating, and Trump wouldn't have fired Comey if Trump liked what he was hearing, thus Comey had to go.

As a side note, Comey should be glad this is all happening in the US. If Trump were the leader of Russia or North Korea and had executive powers to do more than just fire Comey, Comey would be dead or exiled to some political prison in Siberia. I think it is very clear Trump admires world leaders who have total authority to do anything they want without any check on power. In his mind, they cut through the bullshit and get things done, and sometimes that means people need to be killed or put in prison for being dissident; it's not personal, it efficient politics.

It's even more evident now that Trump and his circle jerks have something to hide. When you can't shut people up, you fire them or kill them off. This is a repeat of the Nixon days, history is repeating itself.

It will be interesting to see if Trump villainizes Comey in the same way he has with Clinton, Obama, the media.

It's easy to imagine him at a future rally saying "I said I was going to drain the swamp, and I took out one of worse, and most evil swamp monster to ever to troll the swamp, that pond scum Frankinstien Comey. He should count as a 1000 swamp monsters, that how bad he was. It was me, and only me that took him on, and he's gone, and I am not! I'm a winner, and he's a loser".

I wonder if Comey is allowed to speak out and defend himself. Perhaps in his capacity there were agreements on disclosing anything. The 11th worst person was fired by the 4th worst person. Hmmm

Politico, May 10, 2017: Behind Comey’s firing: An enraged Trump, fuming about Russia

This reporting by Politico seems to fit and is consistent with Trump's character. You should read the whole article but I'll extract just one paragraph:

"He had grown enraged by the Russia investigation, two advisers said, frustrated by his inability to control the mushrooming narrative around Russia. He repeatedly asked aides why the Russia investigation wouldn’t disappear and demanded they speak out for him. He would sometimes scream at television clips about the probe, one adviser said."

This has parallels to the Nixon Watergate investigation when the walls were closing in and the president became desperate and acting irrational.

Yes Schmidt that article says it correctly. Indeed he is roaring mad. However no one has the guts to charge him for the false aquisation that Obama "wire" tapped him. Also I've got the feeling that during the hearing of Sally Yates the word "collusion" gives him the creeps. As an matter of fact I think there must have been collusion if about 8 people did travel to Russia during the campaign including the piece of filth Sessions. I think Trump was awful afraid that this would come out; he's got an lot to hide; this action shows that, as well not disclosing his tax returns.

Checks and balances are out of the window; one big corrupt bunch and stupid country which allows all of this.

And the way Trump handled firing Comey is very much to send a harsh message to Comey that Trump is showing disrespect, being shown the back door, not the front door. A huge Fuck You symbolic message.

Yes, Trump has a certain mean vindictive personality trait about him, and he appears to get a sadistic pleasure in firing people he doesn't like or have crossed him. He's not one to adhere to protocol and dismiss someone with grace. He wants them to feel humiliated.

Look at the way he continues to put down his Republican opponents from the election, at least those who have not kissed his ring.

It shows on how he is building the "empire" around him. It is his step by step process to get control over everyone. He wants to be "dictator" as well he's an "control" freak". That is what you get if you don't "vet" an President. Congratulations America.

Up to the next "power grab"
