By now, you may have heard that the House of Representatives voted to approve Trumpcare 2.0, which is a horrible health care plan. It still needs to get passed by the Senate, so it IS still possible that it could get torpedoed. Obviously, our tweeter in chief is unlikely to veto it, regardless of what the final form becomes.

Today's vote will likely be very costly for the Republicans in 2018, after voters realize that as many a 24,000,000 people will be losing their insurance coverage. It's actually starting to seem likely that the Democrats will control BOTH houses of Congress.

I sure hope so but an expert on the news had a gloomy forecast for Dems in '18. Time will tell. It's time for the Narcissist in chief to start owning the results of his actions. People will suffer and the guy must be held accountable.

It is almost nauseating the way Republicans are carrying on about their "victory". They got their exhilarating "fix" but the longer term implications for the party will be felt when Americans go to the polls in 2018, even if the Senate doesn't pass it in it's current form.

Like I said many times; why can people in Europe have healthcare "for all" without all the shit what we have here? It looks like an bunch of white fat Christian idiots who still live in the 1800's here. Just look at their "victory' bash; just "white fat asses" who want to feed the "rich" so they can get enrich themselves with their own preferred "selected government" healthcare. Sorry this whole bunch belongs in jail. Liars and hypocrites run the show. Get the barf bucket.

Many Americans don't want healthcare for all. Just healthcare for the special people. If you give it to the less desireables they might live longer. Don't want that at all.

I just read meme that said If ISIS wants to kill Americans, they should contribute to the Republican party. Funny but sadly true.

TJ, if you stop and think about it, #43 ordered the invasion of Iraq, then Afghanistan, to go after al queda, and ISIS was born from that, it might be a master plan of the GOP to kill Americans after all.

"ISIL originated as Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad in 1999, which pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda and participated in the Iraqi insurgency following the 2003 invasion of Iraq by Western forces. The group proclaimed itself a worldwide caliphate[57][58] and began referring to itself as Islamic State"

Transparency is needed. There will be hundreds of conflicts and they should be debated and reviewed with public reviews. That's what Republicans want to eliminate. Their interests are reducing costs and tax relief so wealthy can leave more to their heirs. If anyone questions or complains it's labeled as a far left view....

It will likely work because the people who need help medically can't be expected to vote because of (November) television schedules.

Obamacare is a Republican issue. When they (on any television show) say Obamacare, insert a picture of a black man. That's why it's must be eliminated is their true message. Sorry you're family member will die but a black man did something he wasn't told to do. We're gonna fix that. Oh yes, millionaires and billionaires will get huge tax cuts at the same time. Only in 'murica is racial hate more important than staying alive.

The Atlantic, May 5, 2017: The American Health Care Act's Prosperity Gospel

Why do some people vote against their own economic interests or in this case the health care that can save their lives?

It's because of the "prosperity gospel" that says leading good lives produces good health. Trump and Ryan are the "prosperity gospel zealots" and they sell a message that resonates with many in poverty stricken areas...and the poor people who vote against their best interests again and again.

This is just another perspective for a smaller demographic...certainly not a consensus, but significant when the margins for a pass or fail are very small.

The poor are temporarily embarrassed millionaires.

This article indeed shows how crazy they are in this country; especially if the evangelicals adore "faith healing". I wish them luck, especially in the non existing "after" life. That is the reason we get an mentally crazy President, not because of voter fraud, only because half the population believes in "miracles" from outer space; Trump is the revived new "Jesus" for sure. What an country.

It's only the medical community and science that talks about disease and ailments that effectively hinder persons. Who ya gonna believe ? Trump will tell you that you're gonna be fine. Those Libtards are who want you to die. This is the mess that we live in.

Why is healthcare a political football anyway? When will people come together on this issue? It's only life and death , bankrupsy , disability , disease, etc. Nothing to see here...

So the Senate will write a new healthcare bill now ? Is this a first ? Has the Senate done this before ?

They can just fix a few things in the A CA and call it the AHDA or whatever Tcare , that's fine with me. They say it may just die . That would be fine with everyone .
