Accident avoidance features are becoming more available on cars. Do you think any politician has the nerve to submit a bill demanding accident avoidance on all new cars with mandated standards?

No Chet; "government people have no clue about these systems, the same as that Trump has no clue about the world.

Let's first mandate "hands free" and "drug" free driving like in Europe. No cellphones on the ear, nor texting.

Accident avoidance systems don't work in this country, because if an "drunk" or "drugged" idiot sides swipes you in an older car; you're still dead.

"Let's first mandate "hands free" and "drug" free driving like in Europe."

How do they manage drug free driving?

I'm all for accident avoidance systems for trains. That's been put on the back burner until 2020 according to a PBS documentary.
