Again this government has no clue on what "diplomacy" is all about. Trump did sent an total inexperienced person like Tillerson to the far east, while this guy is barely in the job and has no clue whatsoever. The Chinese were already mad about Trumps statements in the past related to Taiwan. Since that area is extremely dangerous if the wrong policies are promoted; a "war"may be at the "horizon" which will be "horrible". The US should promote restrains instead of hyping up that we have "war" on the table.
The thing is that China is very well able to "control" N.Korea, without interference from us; they will never allow N.Korea to fire an missile at Japan or S. Korea, let alone Hawaii. So if Trump and his stupid cronies don't see it that way, then they are asking for it; thus "war". I'm afraid stupidity reigns in this inexperienced government which has become the laughing stock of the world.
The Guardian, March 18, 2017: China rejects Trump criticisms over North Korea
Yeah, Donald Trump is showing as much ignorance on North Korea as he has with the European Union, Japan, China, Taiwan, the Middle East, Canada and America as well.
Tillerson is an unknown, but for someone who has spent his entire life in the Exxon corporate culture, he is probably largely one dimensional in his thinking as well.
"Diplomacy" is not a word in the Trump vocabulary. Authoritarian bullies like Trump and Putin only understand how to intimidate with military power. They are scared to engage in diplomacy because it exposes the weaknesses in their ideologies.
The Chinese for all their shortcomings do understand diplomacy. They are still figuring out Trump, but like Merkel, will not be intimidated by his antics.
