Trump did visit the Navy Yard where the are building an $13 BILLION ship. It is named after President Ford. The way I look at it they should rename it the Bismark and the other one they want to built the Tirpitsh. The "Ford" name is kind of "silly" is it an F250 with the wheels sticking out??

Anyway Trump follows Hitlers path exactly; both ships were the pride of the German Navy at that time both were destroyed. "l'Histoire se repette"

The USS Gerald R. Ford hasn't sailed yet. The official start of construction was August 2005 with a ceremonial steel cutting. However, actual construction in a big way wasn't until three years later in 2008. It was christened in November 2013. It is expected to be commissioned sometime in 2017 with full deployment in 2019.

It seems like they have all these ceremonies and celebrations for a ship that will not see the high seas for another two years or more.

The biggest 13 Billion dollar target that essentially defends itself by destroying bullets coming at it. Being that big does not make it that much more of an asset. China has or is developing missiles capable of destroying CVN78. No limit to the amount of money to destroy life. Seems leaders want power and control over life more than they want to improve life.

Yes Schmidt; an other piece of total waste; it's only purpose is to "show off" ; missiles will take over its role; you can't fight "lone wolves" or an couple of "home grown" terrorists with it either, except pollute the world oceans with it at an huge cost to the tax payer. Any next World War will be fought with other "tools" than ships.
