Like "mental" patients can buy guns now. An anti environment idiot is appointed to the EPA etc. Also they will push through their choice of Supreme Court candidate, with all kinds of consequences. No Jared "democracy" is totally out of the window if one party has the total control; the Dem's who have only 48 votes max can't stop things and will never be able to get votes above the 52 with which the GOP can block everything. So it is an total "power grab" How are we going to ever get back to an "normal" situation? May be in 2020, by that time the damage done with this Trump guy and is ir-repairable. How long will it take to bring this country back on track??It took Obama 8 years and still could not reverse the damage done by Bush like all the wars.
How in the world can you come the the conclusion that I approve of what's going on simply because I informed you that this isn't the first time one party has controlled two branches of government? That's one hell of a leap.
Democracy is not out of the window if one party has total control because the same democracy can throw that party out if they overplay their hands. Democracy would be out the window if Donald succeeds in getting rid of a free press or if he decides to declare himself a dictator and the military lets him get away with it.
Republicans being in control doesn't equate to the end of democracy in general. It's just what happens when people are too damn lazy to participate in their democracy because a new episode of Game of Thrones is more important than voting.

The only thing we can hope for is that he gets impeached and all his cronies die. For the rest I give it not much hope that things ever will get back to an normal "society". Pessimistically speaking it will be an downward slope for this country, unless drastic changes in mentality and education are made.
It's vital to not elevate Fox "News" higher than they actually are. A few million people tune into Fox "News" on any given day. There are nearly 320 million people who live in the United States. I'm not saying they don't have a loyal following, but don't make them out to be this behemoth that hundreds of millions of people watch every day.
One thing that Fox "News" viewers do though is vote. They vote in every single local, state, and Federal election. They vote for their school board members and for city comptroller. They vote in mayoral elections and for state senator and congressperson. If there's anything we need to learn from a loyal Fox "News" viewer, it's that elections do matter and sitting on our ass and complaining about everything doesn't get us anywhere.
