He's a republican. He believes in debt-and-spend while spurring the drive to the consolidation state.

I guess you have no idea at all ; don't forget the huge deficit was created by Republicans who started all our "loosing" wars, of which we are still feeling the impact. Obama did not increase the deficit because of "benefits"for the people; Bush did and Obama was forced to continue these wars even until now, which does costs us "x" million a day. Trump is also forgetting in his budgets that these wars continue as we speak.

As for tax plans and such the complexity of taxes is shown not just in the danger inherent in the law of unintended consequences but also in allowing legislators who are lobbied by the very people who are impacted by taxes to make those changes especially corporate tax changes. The nonsense of tax cuts resulting in increased revenue has been debunked multiple times yet it still lingers on like the small container of Tupperware in the back of the refrigerator that contains who knows what and never gets thrown out.

I am no expert on taxes, economics, etc. I have to wonder if the housing bust in 2000s, and near total collapse of finical market in 2008, is related to continuing to cut taxes and cut regulations, indirectly triggers these events.

Hopefully everyone has seen "The Smartest guys in the room" where they have actual recordings of brokers shutting down power plants, causing rolling blackouts in California. On those recordings you can hear the brokers laughing as they shut off the power to major cities. "Opps, I guess that city is totally fucked for the next 24 hours! Sucks to be them! HAHAHAHA!"

I recommend several books regarding both the crash and economics in general.

Michael Lewis's "The Big Short" is excellent. The movie based on the book is good but the book is better. Charles Morris's "The Trillion Dollar Meltdown" is good. Kevin Phillips has written several good books as have James K. Galbraith and Ha-Joon Chang. Duncan Foley's "Adam's Fallacy: A Guide to Economic Theology" is very good.

And, yes, deregulation as well as lax regulation played a huge role in the crash.

I have seen "The Smartest Guys in the Room." It is good for getting pissed off.

Dutch - Obama had 8 years .... and drove us 10 trillion more in debt.

Trump isn't a Republican though he ran on the GOP ticket certainly. I watched an interview with him a few minutes ago and they asked him about the hundreds of positions he's not filled and he said he's not going to fill them - they're not needed and a waste of taxpayer money.

What a refreshing thing to hear

    Someone needs a civics lesson...

The Congress controls the purse strings. And the Congress had to spend a shit ton of money to dig us out of the near depression that Obama inherited in 2009. Much of that debt is the reason we didn't wind up having another great depression. That, and Obama started insisting that we put the two stupid wars he inherited on the books for once.

Because he alone will fix everything, huh?

What's depressing is that when the shit hits the fan he will just blame anyone other than himself and you Donald supporters will just waive your flags and blindly believe everything he says.

Again - we are living in a post fact world.

Reagan oversaw the greatest percentage increase to the national debt since WWII. Where were you Donald supporters protesting Reagan's massive increase to the debt?! Or during Bush 1 or 2's tenure's? Or does debt only matter to you guys when a black guy is in charge?

What an idiotic thing to hear. What are the positions? What did those people do? Hey, I have great idea! We have a sales organization. Let's cut all of our salespeople. That will save money.

Trump's major problem is he is simplistic. Oh, he has massive character flaws but that pales into insignificance compared to a simplistic worldview.

Jared got it absolutely right; Indeed if Trump is not going to fill any "expert" positions then exactly as Bannon said his intent is to "destroy" the system. So wait till your "social security check" does not come in the mail and we will have wars etc. all over the place. Be my guest!!

Those damned facts always muddy the water. No matter what Trump does it's the black guys fault. 'Nuff said.

How did Obama do that , conservacat ?Please elaborate. Because you are full of shit.

The executive order issued by president shitstain unleashed the banks to do exactly fly what they did in 07. Exactly what they did in 29. And the result will be the same. If we are lucky. But I don't see us being lucky. I don't expect us to get a break. The order came from the Kremlin. It is calculated to destroy the world economy. The world Bank.

The dollar. It is done. It's not pending. It's done. How fucking easy was that ? America is over.
