Looking at her name, it is likely Dutch; It should be written: "De Vos". Which means in Dutch "The Fox". Thus in other words we let an Fox into the "hen house". But yeah she likely never went to school in the Netherlands, otherwise she would be an lot smarter.

She got elected by one vote by "bribing" all the senators with money (yes this is how low we have sunk); yes the GOP don't care if she's nuts as long as they get their way. Bernie had the right idea about education, but he did not have an chance in this ignorant country. The goal of the GOP is to keep them dumb; so they will always vote for the biggest and dumbest mouth. Yes keep doing so, then China will pass us on education in no time. Europe has done so already for a long time. Sure we are on the downslope with everything now and have become an banana republic; thanks to the terrible dumb voters as well Trump.

Sadly we are on the decline and someone who hates public schools is in charge of them. United States of America died November 8, 2016.

Another example of the Von Hayekization of America. The (non-existent) free market knows all, sees all and always is correct. Two tier education system coming up. Look for a proliferation of fraudulent charter and for-profit schools as well as more religion based schools popping up. This is a solution?

As I said on radiofreeliberal, to borrow from Billy Joel's "No Man's Land":

I see these children with their boredom and their vacant stares. God help us all if we're to blame for their unanswered prayers.

Yes, and as Dutch mentioned, Betsy De Vos essentially bought her Secretary of Education post. Take a look at this article in Open Secrets.Org

Betsy DeVos and her big-giving relatives: Family qualifies as GOP royalty

Since 1989, Betsy DeVos and her relatives have given at least $20.2 million to Republican candidates, party committees, PACs and super PACs, according to an OpenSecrets.org analysis.

In the 2016 cycle alone, the family had given at least $10 million as of late October to a host of GOP candidates and committees.

There is more in the article, and although the De Vos family is featured, consider how many other billionaire families are doing exactly the same thing as the De Vos family. As Donald Trump once said, he has contributed to a lot of candidates, both Republican and Democrat, and he always gets a return on his investment.

Schmidt; and you think this is an "honest"; hand on the "Bible" country. Don't let me laugh.

Yes; everything here is for sale. Thus prepare yourself for an "dictatorship"

Rolling Stone, March 8, 2017: Betsy DeVos' Holy War

I mentioned this article in another thread, but for those wanting to better understand Betsy DeVos and her life long quest to evangelize education, you should read this article. It's rather long and in-depth, but very revealing.

Thanks Schmidt, I'm just questioning, if I see all this daily "shit", how in"what ever name" can we bring this country back to an normal "democracy". If ever the Democrats "win" again, they will have their hands full correcting all the GOP created "mess". But the crucial question is, who can be our DNC recommended "leader"? At present I don't have any "strong person" names to do this. Suggestions?

Dutch, The DNC is content with the platform that lost to Trump. The DNC (Hillary) is a bureaucratic institution focused on selfpreserving status quo. You know who the DNC is and they are no hope. They are just like Jeb Bush. We should win because we deserve to win. Lost sight of the working people. Ignoring and denying the solution, Bernie.

They had better find a solution if they hope to change the course. We have no winning formula and more of the same equals more loses. I seriously think many can lead us. Behind closed doors the party should agree on the top 4 - 6 potential candidates and they should each be judged on the messages they spread and the ideas and good will they have. September 2019 is far too late for a strong message of resistance.
